Chopard Tackles Magnetism With The Alpine Eagle AM
Since its debut in 2019, the Chopard Alpine Eagle collection has steadily established itself within the competitive luxury sports watch segment. Drawing inspiration from the 1980 St. Moritz, the collection combines distinctive design with modern watchmaking—and the new Alpine Eagle 41 AM builds on that foundation with a clear focus on reliability in contemporary environments.
Built for Daily Wear in a Modern World
A key technical advancement in this new reference is its resistance to magnetism. In everyday life, exposure to electronic devices can negatively impact the accuracy of mechanical watches. Chopard addresses this with a newly developed antimagnetic hairspring, notably produced without the use of silicon.

This component allows the movement to resist magnetic fields of up to 2,000 gauss, covering the vast majority of daily exposure scenarios and contributing to stable timekeeping over the long term.
Familiar Case, Elevated Material
The 41 mm case remains faithful to the Alpine Eagle’s established design, with its tonneau-shaped profile and round bezel secured by eight indexed screws. It is crafted from Lucent Steel, a proprietary alloy developed by Chopard, known for its durability and high-reflective finish.
With a thickness of 9.75 mm, the watch maintains a relatively slim profile for a sports model. Alternating brushed and polished surfaces enhance the overall refinement, while water resistance is rated at 100 meters, reinforcing its everyday versatility.
A Dial Inspired by Nature
The watch introduces a new “Moss Green” dial, inspired by alpine landscapes. The surface features the collection’s signature radiating texture, designed to evoke the iris of an eagle.

Applied Roman numerals and baton hour markers are filled with Super-LumiNova for improved legibility in low-light conditions. A discreet date display at 4:30 integrates seamlessly into the dial, while a subtle crossed-out magnet symbol above 6 o’clock highlights the model’s enhanced resistance to magnetic fields.
In-House Movement with Enhanced Performance
Powering the watch is the Chopard Calibre 01.01-C, an in-house automatic movement now equipped with the new antimagnetic hairspring. It operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a 60-hour power reserve, along with a stop-seconds function for precise time-setting.

The movement is certified by the COSC, ensuring chronometer-level accuracy, and features a clean, modern finish consistent with the collection’s aesthetic.
Improved Comfort with a Smarter Bracelet
The integrated bracelet has also been refined. While maintaining its recognizable design, it now features a more pronounced taper and slimmer links near the clasp, improving ergonomics on the wrist.

A new micro-adjustment system has been added to the folding clasp, allowing up to 5mm of adjustment without tools—an important functional upgrade that enhances day-to-day comfort.
Positioning in the Luxury Sports Watch Segment
Priced at € 16,300, the Alpine Eagle 41 AM sits within a competitive segment that includes models from brands such as Rolex, Omega and Girard-Perregaux. Within this context, the combination of an in-house movement, COSC certification, proprietary Lucent Steel case, and the introduction of a non-silicon antimagnetic hairspring contributes to a strong overall specification.
A Thoughtful Evolution
Rather than redefining the collection, the Alpine Eagle 41 AM focuses on meaningful technical and ergonomic improvements. The addition of an antimagnetic hairspring, along with updates to the bracelet and a new dial variation, reinforces the model’s role as a modern, versatile luxury sports watch designed for everyday use.
