Chopard Debuts L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer Vendome One In Paris

Chopard celebrates the opening of its Boutique Hotel at Place Vendôme 1 in Paris, with the launch of a limited edition of the L.U.C XPS 1860 of just 8 pieces that can be purchased exclusively at the brand’s new boutique on the ground floor of the new hotel.

Similar to 2019 with the launch of the L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer Royal Arms of England at the time of the reopening of its Boutique Hotel in London also in a limited edition of 8 watches in 18k white gold with an anthracite dial, the new L.U.C XPS 1860 Officer Vendome One now arrives in an 18k yellow gold case with a Bering blue dial.

So apart from the different materials and colors of the dials, everything else is similar to the new and previous exclusive editions. It embraces a round case measuring 40mm in diameter and 7.70mm thick, which comes with a polished finish on the surfaces and vertical satin-brushed on the sides, sapphire glass, a fluted crown with a pusher and the brand’s signature, solid case back with a hand-engraved guillhoché on the outside and a Sun engraved on the inside, a symbol of King Louis XIV who commissioned the construction of Place Vendôme, and 30m water resistance.

The beautiful blue dial, another symbol associated with royalty, once again comes with a hand-guilloché centre that houses a recessed small second at 6 o’clock with an Azure background that also includes a date window and two gold-coated Daphine hands to match the faceted hour’s markers applied on the outer ring followed by a white railway minute track.

Inside we find the ultra-slim automatic movement L.U.C 96.01-L with micro-rotor, which is chronometer certified, running at 28,800 Vph and offering up to 65 hours of power reserve thanks to its two barrels. Although covered by the impressively crafted case back, the movement is carefully adorned with Geneve stripes, chamfered bridges and a 22k yellow-gold rotor.

The watch arrives attached to a brown calfskin leather strap with ecru stitching and blue lining and a pin buckle in 18k yellow gold with an estimated price of €40,000.
