Certina’s New DS-7 Chrono Padel Edition Pays Tribute To Marta Ortega’s Legacy

Certina together with its ambassador Marta Ortega, the Spanish professional Padel player, present the new DS-7 Chrono Padel Edition.

The former world number 1 had worked in the design of the new chronograph and therefore in it, we can find several details relating to Marta Ortega and Padel, such as the carbon fibre dial that also covers the face of the player’s racket, the green details on the dial and strap corresponding to the shade of the Padel courts or the yellow Padel ball drawn on the bottom of the dial.

The watch wears a stainless steel case 41mm wide by 12.15mm high that gets a black PVD coating, featuring hide lugs, black tachymeter bezel, sapphire crystal on the front, fluted crown at 3 o’clock flanked by guards and two pusher, screwed solid case back that comes with Marta Ortega’s signature and 100m of water resistance.

On the anthracite textured dial, we find baton hour markers and hands filled with luminescent material, a Tricompax layout with three registers, a 1/10 seconds counter at 2 o’clock, a running seconds counter at 6 and a 30-minute counter at 10, to which is added a date window at 4 o’clock with a white background and a yellow chronograph centre seconds hand matching the Padel ball at 6 o’clock in the middle of the inscription “Special Edition”. Also noteworthy is the green ring that surrounds the entire dial and that also frames the 1/10 seconds counter.

Inside we find the Quartz ETA G10.212 AD with PreciDrive and PowerDrive movement with 4 jewels and whose battery has a useful life of approximately 38 months.

The new Certina DS-7 Chrono comes attached to a black textile strap with green stitching and a folding clasp that comes with a price tag of €685.
