Cauny Ando: Where Minimalist Architecture Meets Playful Watchmaking
The latest release from Cauny adds a vibrant and imaginative twist to the brand’s “Architects of Time” collection. Created in collaboration with renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando, the Cauny Ando brings together pure architectural minimalism and surprising bursts of color in a timepiece designed to appeal across generations.

At its core, the Cauny Ando is a visual expression of contrast: form meets function, simplicity meets whimsy. The watch is available in two case sizes—31.50 mm and 37.50 mm—both made of 316L stainless steel and shaped into a smooth, rounded pebble-like silhouette. This organic form is uninterrupted except for a recessed crown that blends seamlessly into the case profile, preserving the clean lines.
Two Distinct Finishes
The model is offered in two colorways. The first is a fully brushed steel version, showcasing a monochromatic, industrial aesthetic that subtly nods to Ando’s celebrated concrete structures. The second is a bold, fully apple-green edition, where the case, dial, and strap are all saturated in the same striking hue. This version is not only a stylistic departure for Cauny, but also a visual metaphor inspired by Ando’s personal symbolism—green apples as a sign of youthful curiosity and potential.

Domed Crystal, Convex Dial
Each watch is fitted with a domed sapphire crystal, enhancing the soft, rounded case profile. Beneath it lies a convex dial—a feature that plays with reflections and light. The steel model includes a brushed dial that blends into the case for a uniform look, while the green edition presents a glossy, polished dial for a livelier impression.

Both dials are devoid of indices or logos, emphasizing clarity and restraint. Time is indicated by a pair of distinctive hands: leaf-shaped hour hands and thin minute hands. The brushed steel version features silver-toned hands, while the green model introduces bright white hands for high contrast and playful visibility.
Reliable Quartz Movement
Powering the Cauny Ando is a Swiss-made Ronda quartz movement. The 31.50 mm model houses the Ronda 762, while the 37.50 mm version uses the Ronda 751. Both are time-only calibers known for their ultra-thin profiles and long-lasting battery life—making them ideal for a watch that aims to be fuss-free and dependable over years of occasional wear.

Strap Options
Each version is paired with an Italian leather strap. The steel model is matched with a classic black strap, reinforcing its minimalist tone, while the green version continues its monochrome aesthetic with a matching green leather strap.

A Watch with Personality
With the Cauny Ando, the brand moves beyond the conventional. The collaboration doesn’t merely borrow the name of a famed architect—it translates Ando’s sensibilities into a watch that reflects restraint, playfulness, and visual clarity in equal parts.
