A Refined Evolution: Meet The New Yema Granvelle Renaissance CMM.29
French watchmaker Yema expands its elegant Granvelle collection with the introduction of the new Granvelle Renaissance CMM.29, a model that builds upon the foundation established by the original Granvelle while introducing a more compact case, a newly developed dial architecture, and several design refinements.

Inspired by the historic Granvelle Palace in Besançon, a landmark closely linked to French horological heritage and home to the city’s Museum of Time, the Granvelle Renaissance embraces a dressier and more architectural aesthetic compared to the brand’s better-known sports watches.
A More Compact Cushion-Shaped Case
One of the most notable updates is the reduction in case size. The new Granvelle Renaissance features a stainless steel cushion-shaped case measuring 37.50 mm in diameter, down from the 39 mm case of its predecessor.
The case measures 46.30 mm lug-to-lug and only 9 mm thick, including the crystal, making it a notably slim automatic watch. Multiple finishing techniques are employed throughout the case, combining polished surfaces with vertical brushing and sunray-brushed elements to create visual contrast.

Yema has also redesigned the lugs and further refined the overall finishing. The fluted caseband, one of the defining characteristics of the Granvelle collection, remains a prominent feature, while the crown receives a new cushion-inspired design that mirrors the shape of the case. Alternating brushed and polished finishes decorate the crown, which is completed by an embossed Yema logo.
Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.
Multi-Layer Dial with Architectural Inspiration
The dial receives a significant redesign compared to the first-generation Granvelle. Instead of relying on a stamped guilloché-style texture, the Granvelle Renaissance adopts a more sophisticated multi-level construction.
At the center sits a decorative engraved geometric motif inspired by the distinctive roof patterns found on the Granvelle Palace. Surrounding this section is a recessed hour track, while a small seconds display is positioned at 9 o’clock. An outer chapter ring completes the dial layout.

The combination of different textures and finishes allows the dial to interact dynamically with changing light conditions, highlighting the depth and architectural character of the design.
Applied faceted hour markers and polished hands contribute to the refined appearance while enhancing readability. Both are filled with Super-LumiNova BGW9, ensuring visibility in low-light environments.
Manufacture Micro-Rotor Calibre CMM.29
Powering the Granvelle Renaissance is Yema’s in-house calibre CMM.29, an automatic movement featuring a micro-rotor architecture.

Developed and assembled at the brand’s workshops in Morteau, France, the movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and delivers a robust 70-hour power reserve.
The movement utilizes a tungsten micro-rotor mounted on ball bearings, allowing for efficient winding while maintaining a slim profile. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the calibre showcases rhodium-plated bridges decorated with a radiating Côtes de Genève finish.
Strap and Availability
The Granvelle Renaissance CMM.29 is paired with a leather strap. The strap tapers from 18mm at the lugs to 14mm at the redesigned stainless steel pin buckle. It is priced at € 2,100.
