The RGM 501 Teddy Baldassarre Edition In Detail

The RGM 501 Teddy Baldassarre Edition is a collaborative timepiece developed by RGM Watch Company and watch retailer and content creator Teddy Baldassarre. Produced at RGM’s workshop in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, the watch combines American-based case and dial manufacturing with a Swiss-made automatic movement.

Case Design and Dimensions

The watch is housed in a newly developed stainless steel case that has not previously appeared in RGM’s regular collection. Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the case measures 39 mm in diameter, 11.30 mm in thickness, and 48 mm from lug to lug. Its design is defined by a stepped bezel, a box-style sapphire crystal, and a newly designed, slightly oversized crown. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters. On the reverse, a sapphire exhibition case back reveals the movement and is engraved with both RGM and Teddy Baldassarre branding, as well as a production number identifying the first batch of 25 pieces. The watch is delivered on a brown Jean Rousseau leather strap  secured by a deployant clasp.

Guilloché Dial and Display Details

The dial is produced entirely in-house and showcases RGM’s expertise in traditional guilloché engraving. Two distinct hand-cut guilloché patterns are used, one covering the central dial surface and another reserved for the subsidiary seconds display positioned at 6 o’clock. Both sections are finished with blue galvanic plating and framed by silver chapter rings.

The minute track features black Breguet numerals, with the numerals at 3 and 9 o’clock inverted to accommodate the dial layout. Time is indicated by polished silver hour and minute hands with a hybrid leaf-and-sword profile, while dial text is kept deliberately minimal, displaying only the RGM Watch Co. signature.

Movement and Finishing

Powering the watch is the RGM–Schwarz Etienne ASE 200 calibre, a Swiss-made automatic movement equipped with a micro-rotor. Designed to fill the entire case back opening, the movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and contains 33 jewels. It offers a substantial power reserve of approximately 86 hours. Finishing is carried out jointly by RGM and Schwarz Etienne and includes Geneva stripes, perlage, and refined detailing throughout the movement. The micro-rotor is decorated with a curved plaque referencing Lancaster, Pennsylvania, acknowledging the region’s historical importance in American watchmaking.

Price and Availability

The RGM 501 Teddy Baldassarre Edition is priced at USD 13,900. While the initial production consists of 25 pieces, the watch is positioned as a special edition rather than a strictly limited model.

Closing Overview

With its newly designed case, multi-piece hand-guilloché dial, and long-power-reserve micro-rotor movement, the RGM 501 Teddy Baldassarre Edition emphasizes RGM’s commitment to traditional craftsmanship combined with contemporary mechanical engineering.
