The 46th Dakar Rally Started With Rebellion Timepieces Again As Official Timekeeper

The mother of endurance races began yesterday in Saudi Arabian, the 46th Dakar edition, this year bringing together 778 drivers across different categories, taking place between the 5th and 19th of January, into 12 stages.

For the sixth consecutive year, Rebellion Timepieces is the competition’s Official Timekeeper, bringing two limited-edition timepieces of 15 units each that will also be offered to the competition’s winners.

The first timepiece is the ‘Predator Chrono Dakar 2024’, a chronograph that is presented in a robust carbon fiber case with an openworked dial and a textile strap in sand tones reminiscent of the stages in the desert where the race takes place.

The exclusive chronograph wears a 48mm carbon fiber case with a ribbed pattern whose material is 75% lighter than steel and 10 times more resistant. Its smooth bezel is made from the same material, secured with 8 screws. On the outside we can also find sapphire glass on both sides, a crown at 3 o’clock wrapped in a black rubber ring with the brand’s signature and flanked by two horizontal pushers and 50m waterproof.

The openworked black DLC dial features a honeycomb-mesh design, rotating 30-minute and 12-hour counters and a small seconds at 3-6-12 hours respectively and all with red pointers. A date window at 4:30, applied gilt hour markers and hands filled with Super-LumiNova and finally a center chronograph seconds hand with a red tip.

Inside operates a self-winding movement Swiss made Caliber with 2 days of power reserve and whose oscillating weight comes with honeycomb-forged that can be seen through the glass of the rear case and which is painted with the Dakar 2024 logo.

The second limited edition is the ‘Predator 2.0 Three Hands Dakar 2024’, which like its chronograph brother comes forged in a carbon fiber case with the same 48mm width, sapphire crystal, fluted crown at 3 o’clock and 50m of water resistance .

On the openworked black dial, the same honeycom pattern, which comes with the oversized numerals 12 and 9, which, like the hands and hour markers, are filled with luminescent material in beige tones. We can also find a round date window at 3 o’clock, a skeletonized center seconds hand, a minute track on the flange, and the brand’s lettering at noon and the Dakar logo at 6 o’clock.

Inside, a Swiss made self-winding movement that offers up to 48 hours of power reserve.

Finally, both watches are attached to Cordura textile straps in sand colour that pay homage to the tone of the Desert.
