PS Horology Debuts Tsuba Blue And Dong Son Masterpieces
Peter Speake, renowned for his groundbreaking projects like Speake Marin and The Naked Watchmaker, has launched his independent brand, PS Horology, marking a bold new chapter in watchmaking. Debuting with two meticulously crafted timepieces, the Tsuba Blue edition and the Tsuba Dong Son edition, this collection draws inspiration from the rich cultural history of traditional Japanese sword guards.

Both watches share the signature Tsuba case, a rounded square-shaped stainless steel design that exudes elegance and precision. Measuring 38.30mm in diameter and 8.91mm in height, the case boasts a mix of brushed and polished finishes, accented by scooped corners. Protected by sapphire crystal and featuring a crown at 3 o’clock flanked by guards, the case ensures durability with 30 meters of water resistance. A solid case back with a sapphire opening provides a glimpse of the intricate movement within.

The Tsuba Blue edition showcases a modern aesthetic with a sapphire dial layered with a vibrant blue lacquer bezel. The watch features minimalistic indexes, a railway minute track, and a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. Complemented by blue hands and a “Swiss Made” marking on the dial, this limited edition of 100 pieces is priced at CHF 19,500 plus tax.

In contrast, the Tsuba Dong Son edition pays homage to the Dong Son culture of northern Vietnam, which flourished from 1,000 BC to the first century AD. Its dial, crafted from 18k gold, is adorned with intricate mythological motifs in relief, set against an ultramarine or slate background. The blue dagger-shaped hands and the small seconds sub-dial below complete the design, which is offered in a limited run of 80 pieces. This edition also comes with an additional humid-resistant strap in blue or brown, alongside the integrated steel bracelet. Pricing for the Tsuba Dong Son is available upon request.

Both models are powered by the Manufacture Vaucher 5401 micro-rotor automatic movement, a technical marvel with 176 components, a 21,600 Vph frequency, and a 48-hour power reserve. The tungsten rotor, visible through the sapphire case back, highlights the brand’s commitment to blending art with technical excellence.

With the launch of PS Horology, Peter Speake redefines independent watchmaking, combining cultural storytelling with unparalleled craftsmanship. These exclusive timepieces are poised to captivate collectors and enthusiasts alike, solidifying PS Horology as a brand to watch in the luxury watch industry.
