Naoya Hida Debuts Four New Timepieces For 2024
Naoya Hida (NH), the independent Japanese watch brand, reveals its collection for 2024 with four new entries, three round watches in the style of the classic Calatrava including one with moon phases and finally a rectangular watch.
NH Type 1D
The brand revisits its first watch which now arrives in two new yellow gold timepieces, the NH Type 1D-2 which comes in a solid case with a polished and brushed finish and the NH Type 1D-3 which comes in a case with hand-engraved waves on the profile made by Keisuke Kano.
The watches share the same round yellow gold case measuring 37mm in diameter and 9.80mm thick, with sapphire glass on the front, crown at 3 o’clock, solid case back, 50m water resistance and attached to a leather strap. The same applies to the friction-plated German silver dial, with hand-engraved Breguet numerals filled with Urushi lacquer, solid gold hands matching yellow gold dots on the edges and a recessed small seconds at 9 o’clock.
Inside we find the hand-wound Caliber 3019SS that runs 28,800 Vph and offers up to 2 days of power reserve.
During the current year, 5 units of the NH Type 1D-2 and 3 of the NH Type 1D-3 will be produced with prices of approximately €34,750 and €48,000 respectively to which taxes are added.

NH Type 3B-1
The new watch comes in a round case similar to the two new NH Type 1D with dimensions of 37mm by 10.70mm but here in two tones, featuring a skeleton in 904L steel and an 18k rose gold bezel, sapphire crystal, steel crown and solid case back, 50m waterproof and grey Alcantara leather strap.
On the grained German silver dial we find hand-engraved Roman numerals filled with black cashew lacquer which is also applied on the dot minute track ring, two centre solid rose gold hands and a moon-phase aperture at 6 o’clock with a gold hand-engraved moon over a blue sky in lapis lazuli.
At its heart, the hand-wound Caliber 3021LU movement operates at a 4 Hz frequency and offers up to 45 hours of power reserve.
It is planned to produce 5 units of the watch in 2024 with an approximate price of €22,800 plus VAT.

NH Type 5A
It is the Japanese brand’s first watch to arrive in a rectangular 904L steel case with dimensions of 26mm wide, 9.10mm high and 43.50mm lug-to-lug distance, which comes with a brushed finish on the surfaces and polished on the bezel and bevels, curved two-part sapphire glass, crown at 3 o’clock, open case back, 30m water resistance and tanned cordovan leather strap.
On the grained German silver dial we find hand-engraved triangle hour markers and a 12 Arabic numeral all filled with Urushi lacquer, a centre recessed round sector with a dot minute track and two polished Dauphine intercepted by a small seconds at 6 o’clock with a blue hand.
Through the sapphire glass of the rear case, we can admire the architecture of the hand-wound Caliber 2524 movement that reaches 21,600 Vph offering up to 38 hours of power reserve and is adorned with handmade stripes.
This year, it is planned to produce 10 units of the watch, which will cost approximately €18,000 excluding taxes.
