Mido Turns Down The Temperature With A New Ice Blue-Grey Multifort 8 Two Crowns
Building on the momentum of its early 2025 release, Mido has introduced a refreshing new addition to its Multifort 8 Two Crowns collection—this time featuring a striking ice blue-grey dial. The latest variant brings a refined, almost frosty edge to the modern sports watch, maintaining all the core design and mechanical elements that have made this model a standout in Mido’s recent lineup.

At a glance, the new ice-toned dial injects a cooler character into the Multifort 8 Two Crowns family without altering the technical DNA. This fourth iteration joins the existing black, blue, and gray options, and stands out with a subtle chromatic shift that transitions between light grey and pale blue depending on the angle and lighting—adding depth to an already multidimensional dial.

The watch retains its 40 mm stainless steel case, known for its compact 9.50 mm thickness and ergonomic 44.86 mm lug-to-lug span. It continues to channel a distinctly 1970s sport-luxury aesthetic, characterized by the barrel-shaped case, raised octagonal bezel, and refined finishing that alternates between brushing and polishing. Two screw-down crowns—at 2 o’clock for the internal timing bezel and at 4 o’clock for the movement and time-setting—remain key features, emphasizing both symmetry and practical functionality.

The new dial echoes the existing layout: horizontal striping at center, recessed markers, and baton-style hands treated with Super-LumiNova for nighttime visibility. A date aperture at 3 o’clock and the distinctive inner rotating bezel with a 60-minute scale round out the design, ensuring both visual appeal and everyday usability.

Underneath, the Mido Caliber 72 delivers dependable performance. Derived from the ETA 2892-A2, this automatic movement boasts 21 jewels, beats at 25,200 vibrations per hour, and offers a 72-hour power reserve—plenty for a weekend off the wrist. A Nivachron balance spring helps protect against magnetic interference, and the sapphire case back lets wearers admire the decorated movement.

The new Ice Blue-Grey version is available with a steel bracelet equipped with quick-release spring bars, enabling easy strap changes without tools. Pricing remains consistent with the collection, offering strong value at CHF 1,150 on bracelet.
With this new dial option, Mido continues to refine the Multifort 8 Two Crowns into one of the most balanced and wearable sport-luxury watches in its segment. The ice blue-grey colorway adds a sophisticated and contemporary twist—ideal for collectors who want a cooler palette without compromising on technical execution.
