The World’s First Micro-Adjustable Ceramic Bracelet

One of the most innovative aspects of the Essence Ceramica is its patented micro-adjustment system, integrated directly into the ceramic bracelet. A world first, it allows for 5 mm of on-the-fly adjustment, with increments of 1.25 mm, without removing the watch from the wrist or even opening the clasp.

The bracelet also features a quick-release mechanism, enabling seamless changes to rubber, nylon, or leather straps—no tools required.

Precision Dials with Modern Detailing

Four dial options are available: white, dégradé, blue and gamaret. Produced by renowned dial-maker Cadranor, the dials feature CNC-machined horizontal grooves for added depth and character.

Hand-applied multifaceted indices and hands are finished with a mix of brushed surfaces and polished bevels, all filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova for excellent legibility in low light. The date window at 6 o’clock is beveled and recessed, with the date disc color-matched to the dial.

A Bespoke Soprod Calibre

Inside the Essence Ceramica beats the Newton P092 automatic calibre, developed exclusively for Formex by Soprod over a three-year period. Its symmetrical layout, with the balance positioned at 6 o’clock under a transverse bridge, is engineered for enhanced stability and shock resistance.

The movement has undergone Chronofiable testing and carries COSC chronometer certification, guaranteeing high precision. Operating at 4Hz, it delivers a 44-hour power reserve.

Formex Marks 25 Years With The Essence Space Ghost 41mm Automatic

For its 25th anniversary, Formex introduces the Essence Space Ghost 41 mm, a new addition to the Essence collection that bridges the gap between the existing 39 mm and 43 mm sizes. The release continues the brand’s fascination with meteorite dials while refining comfort, practicality, and engineering.

Case and Construction

The 41 mm case is crafted in brushed 316L stainless steel with polished accents. At just 10.60 mm thick, it balances presence with wearability. Like other models in the Essence line, it features Formex’s patented Case Suspension System—a construction where the inner Grade 2 titanium container is mounted on springs and secured by four functional bezel screws. This design helps absorb shocks and improves wrist comfort.

The screw-down crown has been reworked to integrate seamlessly with the suspension system, ensuring a secure seal without compromising flexibility. With 100 meters of water resistance, sapphire crystals on both sides, and anti-reflective treatment, the watch is ready for everyday use.

Meteorite Dial

At the heart of the watch is a dial cut from a 4.5-billion-year-old fragment of the Muonionalusta meteorite. Treated to prevent oxidation, the material retains its distinctive Widmanstätten pattern, highlighted further by galvanic rhodium plating.

Applied indices and blued hands are mounted directly into the meteorite surface through precision-drilled holes. Both are filled with Super-LumiNova BGW9 for legibility in the dark. A neatly framed date window at 6 o’clock completes the layout.

Movement

Inside is the Sellita SW200-1, a COSC-certified automatic calibre beating at 28,800 vph with a 41-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement is finished with a custom skeleton rotor and blued screws, underscoring Formex’s attention to detail.

Bracelet and Straps

Formex introduces a new micro-adjustable butterfly clasp with the Space Ghost 41 mm. On the steel bracelet, the system offers three positions without needing to open the clasp. Bracelet screws have also been redesigned for ease of use.

For versatility, buyers can choose from leather, nylon, or rubber straps, each equipped with a carbon fibre deployant clasp that provides up to 7 mm of gradual adjustment on the wrist. All strap and bracelet options feature a tool-free quick-release system.

Swiss watchmaker Formex returns to the rugged elegance of the field watch with the release of the Field Automatic Gen-2, a refined update to the brand’s original 2022 titanium field model. Designed for durability, legibility, and everyday functionality, the second generation brings subtle yet significant improvements in both form and finish.

Refined Titanium Case Construction

The Gen-2 Field Automatic is housed in a hardened Grade 2 titanium case that measures 40 mm in diameter, with a lug-to-lug length of 48 mm and a thickness of 10.50 mm. Known for its lightweight and anti-corrosive properties, titanium is a staple material for tough, outdoor-ready watches. Formex enhances this with a proprietary hardening process, increasing the case’s surface hardness from 145 Vickers to 900 Vickers—making it nearly three times more scratch-resistant than standard Grade 5 titanium. A full sandblasted matte finish and crisp beveled edges give the case a stealthy appearance, fit for active or urban environments alike.

Upgraded Two-Part Dial Design

The updated dial architecture presents a two-part structure with a flat central section in a sunburst finish, encircled by a railway minute track. Formex continues to expand its innovative Space Rock series with the introduction of the Essence Space Glacier, a timepiece that seamlessly blends the precision of Swiss chronometry with the allure of extraterrestrial material. Building on the Essence platform’s reputation for robust engineering and everyday versatility, this new model introduces a distinctive ice-blue aesthetic anchored by a Muonionalusta meteorite dial.

Two Sizes, One Striking Identity

Available in both 39 mm and 43 mm stainless steel cases, the Essence Space Glacier is engineered for comfort and performance. The smaller version measures 10 mm in thickness, while the larger stands at 10.60 mm—both offering a 100m water resistance rating. Signature design elements remain intact: vertically brushed surfaces, polished chamfered edges, and the brand’s signature exposed bezel screws, which are more than decorative. New Bahama Blue Joins Formex Reef’s 39.50MM Dive Watch Line

Debuted at the end of 2023, the Formex Reef 39.50MM Dive Watch in four different colours, with an appreciable 300m of water resistance and a COSC-certified automatic movement, now arrives in a new Bahama Blue with summer in mind.

Until now, the collection had more sober winter colours such as white, grey, dark blue and green, will now also feature a bright blue with a matching ceramic insert bezel filled with black resin in the markers instead of the embossed scale of the previous ones.

The new diving watch, therefore, wears a stainless steel case measuring 39.50mm in diameter, 11mm thick and 45.50mm lug-to-lug distance, which comes with a brushed finish on the surfaces and polished on the bevels, bezel and crown, unidirectional bezel with the interchangeable system, sapphire crystal, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with guards whose shape is followed on the opposite side to guarantee the symmetry of the case, screwed solid case back and the 300m of water resistance also announced on the dial.

On the eye-catching blue dial, we find the same layout as its peers, with brushed applied hour markers and hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, a matching date window at 6 o’clock, a black minute track combining with dial inscriptions and a lollipop centre seconds hand.

At its heart operates the Sellita SW300-1 COSC-certified automatic movement that is common to the entire Formex Reef line, with 25 jewels that run at 28,800 Vph and offer up to 56 hours of power reserve.

The brand, in addition to the diversity of different bezels, also offers a wide range of strap options, ranging from rubber, leather, fabric and steel, with prices starting at €1,630.
