Formex Essence Ceramica Debuts With New Soprod Newton P092 Calibre
Formex has built its reputation since 2000 on crafting rugged, performance-driven watches designed for active lifestyles. Among its standout collections, the Essence line has become a bestseller thanks to its distinctive case design, patented suspension system, and chronometer-certified precision. For the brand’s 25th anniversary, Formex introduces a bold step forward: the Essence Ceramica, the first Essence crafted entirely from zirconium oxide ceramic and paired with a world-first micro-adjustable ceramic bracelet.

A Refined 41 mm Case in High-Tech Ceramic
The Essence Ceramica debuts in the recently introduced 41 mm case size, positioned between the 39 mm and 43 mm options already available in the collection. Measuring 11.20 mm in thickness with a 46.20 mm lug-to-lug distance, the case is designed for versatile wear while maintaining the robust character the Essence is known for.
Crafted in partnership with Dexel, a leader in advanced materials, the case and bracelet are made from scratch-resistant zirconium oxide ceramic. The result is a construction that is both lightweight and resilient. Multiple finishing techniques highlight the architecture of the watch: vertically brushed surfaces, diamond-polished bevels, and the signature bezel with four polished and brushed bolts.

The screw-down crown ensures 100m water resistance, while Formex’s patented Case Suspension System further protects the movement from shocks by housing it in a titanium container.
The World’s First Micro-Adjustable Ceramic Bracelet
One of the most innovative aspects of the Essence Ceramica is its patented micro-adjustment system, integrated directly into the ceramic bracelet. A world first, it allows for 5 mm of on-the-fly adjustment, with increments of 1.25 mm, without removing the watch from the wrist or even opening the clasp.
The bracelet also features a quick-release mechanism, enabling seamless changes to rubber, nylon, or leather straps—no tools required.
Precision Dials with Modern Detailing
Four dial options are available: white, dégradé, blue and gamaret. Produced by renowned dial-maker Cadranor, the dials feature CNC-machined horizontal grooves for added depth and character.

Hand-applied multifaceted indices and hands are finished with a mix of brushed surfaces and polished bevels, all filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova for excellent legibility in low light. The date window at 6 o’clock is beveled and recessed, with the date disc color-matched to the dial.

A Bespoke Soprod Calibre
Inside the Essence Ceramica beats the Newton P092 automatic calibre, developed exclusively for Formex by Soprod over a three-year period. Its symmetrical layout, with the balance positioned at 6 o’clock under a transverse bridge, is engineered for enhanced stability and shock resistance.

The movement has undergone Chronofiable testing and carries COSC chronometer certification, guaranteeing high precision. Operating at 4Hz, it delivers a 44-hour power reserve.
