Introducing The New Fears Brunswick 40 Aurora And Cooper Salmon

Fears presents two new watches from its revamped Brunswick 40 flagship line, the Aurora and the Cooper Salmon.

The Aurora has its main highlight on the mother-of-pearl dial in shades of blue and whose irregular pattern is reminiscent of the tones of the Northern Lights phenomenon (aka Aurora Borealis), while the Cooper Salmon has roots in the iconic 38mm Brunswick in tones of salmon that in 2020 took the company out of the red.

Thus, the new watches are based on a cushion-shaped stainless steel case measuring 40mm in diameter and 11.90mm thick, renewed last year and whose finish alternates between brushed and polished. Smooth bezel and short lugs (just 46.50mm lug-to-lug distance), sapphire crystal, fluted crown, screwed steel case back and 150m water resistance.

The renewed dial that leaves the small seconds behind, now features a layer underneath in the centre that, in addition to receiving a different finish from the rest of the dial, houses faceted rhodium-plated pencil hands, a centre seconds hand with counterbalance and finally the lettering of the brand at noon. The second disc-shaped peripheral layer receives applied Arabic numerals and a printed railway minute track with small triangles drawn marking the hours.

Powered by the modified ETA 2824-2 automatic movement, it operates at 28,800 Vph and offers up to 38 hours of power reserve.

The new Brunswick comes attached to a black buffalo leather strap for the Cooper Salmon version and a blue nubuck buffalo leather for the Aurora version. Alternatively, the watches can also be purchased with a 5-link steel bracelet, with prices ranging from €3,600 to €3,700 (excluded VAT) for the leather strap option on the Cooper Salmon and Aurora versions respectively, and with prices rising €200 if you opt for the steel bracelet first.
