Elka 36 N And D-Series: Vintage Styling In A 36mm Case
Elka Watch Co., the Swiss brand that returned to the watchmaking scene in 2022, expands its portfolio in 2025 with the release of the Elka 36 collection. The launch introduces two distinct styles: a refreshed D-Series in a compact format and the brand-new N-Series, Elka’s first field watch. Both lines are united by a smaller case size and design language that draws from vintage aesthetics while remaining firmly rooted in modern watchmaking.
Case and Movement
At the core of both models is a 36 mm stainless steel case, paired with a slim 10.50 mm thickness and 41.10 mm lug-to-lug length—dimensions that reflect vintage proportions while ensuring modern wearability. Protecting the dial is a box-type sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, while the back features a screw-down exhibition case back offering a view of the movement and 50 meters of water resistance.

Inside, Elka equips the watches with the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic caliber, delivering 68 hours of power reserve. This Swiss-made movement balances the collection’s vintage-inspired design with contemporary reliability and convenience.

The N-Series: A Field Watch Debut
The N-Series represents Elka’s first dedicated field watch and combines practicality with vintage character. One version comes with a beige dial that pairs black numerals and indexes with subtle yellow-orange details, while the other opts for a black dial accented by yellow numerals, white indexes, and bold yellow hands. In both models, the hands feature “Old Radium” lume, harmonizing with the Arabic numerals on the black dial variant to create a timeless, aged aesthetic.

Strap options broaden the versatility of the N-Series. The buyers can also choose a brown leather strap or a beads-of-rice steel bracelet, adding either ruggedness or refinement depending on the preference. A beige NATO-style nylon strap is also available exclusively for this line, reinforcing its field-ready spirit.

The rounded numeral design points back to the 1930s, an era that clearly informs the collection’s inspiration, while Elka’s arched serif logo and discreet “automatic” inscription beneath the 12 o’clock position maintain a clean and highly legible dial layout.
The D-Series: Refined Elegance
The 36 D-Series is designed with a more formal setting in mind, offering a streamlined aesthetic. Two dial variations are available: one with a silver finish complemented by gold hands and indexes, and another in blue, where silver accents give the design a crisp, modern edge. These models are available with either a brown or blue leather strap, both lined in microfiber or Alcantara for added comfort. For those seeking a touch of vintage sophistication, a beads-of-rice bracelet option completes the lineup and elevates the D-Series into classic dress watch territory.

Pricing and Availability
Prices for the Elka ’36 collection start at CHF 1,662 for the NATO-style nylon strap option, which is offered only with the N-Series. The leather strap configuration is available from CHF 1,716, while the steel bracelet option begins at CHF 1,755.
With its combination of compact dimensions, refined movements, and versatile styling, the Elka ’36 collection bridges the gap between heritage-inspired design and modern watchmaking standards.
