The Czapek Antarctique makes its debut in a striking two-tone case, featuring a silicon mirror dial crafted as a tribute to Sincere Watches’ Platinum Jubilee, the exclusive retailer of the brand in Southeast Asia.

Introduced in 2020, the Antarctique has quickly established itself as a strong contender in the highly coveted sport-chic category, known for its integrated bracelet design. Initially available in a 40.50mm case, it was later followed by the 38.50mm “S” model, offering a more compact yet equally refined option.

Czapek has reintroduced the Antarctique collection with an updated design that now features a stunning aventurine blue dial and optional diamonds, making it a striking addition to the luxury sports watch market.

The deep blue dial is crafted from aventurine stone, creating a sparkling pattern reminiscent of a starry night sky. This unique texture adds depth and allure to the watch face. The dial maintains a minimalist design, displaying only time functions with three central hands for hours, minutes, and seconds. The hour markers are available in two options: the Polar Sky, which features polished markers, and the Flying Diamonds, which showcases diamond hour markers for an extra touch of luxury. Introducing The Czapek Place Vendôme Complicité Stardust Cobalt

The double regulator introduced in 2023 by Czapek is returning via the new limited edition Place Vendome Complicité Stardust Cobalt.

The watch features high accuracy thanks to its two balance wheels that feed a single barrel that provides 72 hours of power reserve.

The new Place Vendôme by Bernhard Lederer, like the previous one, features a pyramid layout on the dial, consisting of two golden balance wheels at 4:30 and 7:30 held by two V-shaped bridges that form the base of that geometric shape and close at the apex represented by differential gear at noon.

The watch now features heat-blue applied hour markers based on a brushed silver semi-falange between 4 and 8 o’clock that match the skeletonized hands with Super-LumiNova inserts. On the open-worked dial, we can also find a sapphire crystal bridge that extends from the hands base to noon, a minute/seconds rehaut, a centre seconds hand with a red tip and a power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock.

Housed in an 18k white gold case measuring 41.80mm in diameter and 13.30mm thick, it presents a polished and brushed finish, domed sapphire glass instead of the previous glass-box type, fluted crown with the brand’s signature, open case back and 50m water resistance.

We again find the hand-wound movement Calibre 8 developed in collaboration with Laderer with 293 components, which reaches 21,600 Vph and offers up to 3 days of power reserve.

The watch is attached to a black alligator leather strap with an 18k white gold folding clasp limited to 13 units and priced at €89,000 plus taxes.

Introducing The New Czapek Promenade

Czapek chose Geneva to present the new Promenade which arrives with three watches.

The watches are presented in a round stainless steel case with dimensions of 38mm in diameter, 10.80mm in thickness and 42mm lug-to-lug distance, which comes with a mainly polished finish, smooth bezel, sapphire crystal on both sides, short curved lugs, recessed sides with sandblasted finish and crown at 3 o’clock with guards.

On the minimalist dial, there is only space for two skeletonized centre hands and a small second at 4:30.

Among the three new watches, there is a limited edition of 20 pieces called the “Goutte D’Eau” which comes with a blue enamel dial that depicts a drop falling on water. The other two watches join the permanent collection and are called “Guilloché Soleil” the Bleu Nuit in dark blue and Ivoire in beige that mimics a sun on the sub-dial that emanates rays of light around it, these two watches add a rehaut minute track on the dial as well as a second track in the small register at 4:30.

Inside, they all come equipped with the SXH5 automatic micro-rotor movement with 193 components that reach 28,800 Vph and offer up to 60 hours of power reserve, which can be observed through the sapphire crystal of the rear case, highlighting the finger bridges and the rotor made from recycled platinum.

The watches, which can be attached to a Nubuck calfskin leather strap matching the tone of the dial or a Mesh steel bracelet, are priced at CHF 17,350 and CHF 18,000 (excluding taxes), the latter for the limited edition.

Introducing The Czapek Antarctique Mount Erebus Gold

Czapek has just added two limited editions in gold to its Antarctique collection, which is an absolute first within the line, inspired by Mount Erebus and coming with a blue dial.

It is not surprising that the Swiss watch brand named its two most recent Antarctique editions after Mount Erebus, as it is the southernmost active volcano, associating its activity with the gold tone of the new watches.

The watches wear the traditional round case with an integrated bracelet that characterizes the collection, which debuts here in 2N yellow gold and 5N rose gold with dimensions of 40.50mm in diameter and 10.60mm in thickness, featuring a mainly brushed finish and some polished elements such as the bezel and the C-shaped intermediate links on the bracelet. Sapphire crystal, smooth bezel, fluted crown at 3 o’clock with the brand’s signature, open case back and 120m water resistance.

The blue-toned dial evokes the hue of the first Antarctique, comes with a vertical brushed finish, features gold applied hour markers and hands all filled with Super-LumiNova, a date window at 6 o’clock with a background matching the dial, a rehaut minute track in a more open blue, a centre seconds hand and the brand’s lettering printed in white at noon.

At its heart, we can find the Caliber SXH5 automatic micro-rotor movement that operates at 28,800 Vph and offers up to 60 hours of power reserve.

In addition to the option of an integrated Titanium bracelet with a folding clasp, there is also the possibility of the watches coming with a rubber strap, with prices ranging between CHF 52,300 and CHF 31,000 for each of the options mentioned above.

Introducing the Czapek x Collective Antarctique P.04 “Lanikai”

Czapek & Cie in partnership with Collective Horology has just released the new Antarctique P.04 “Lanikai”.

At the request of Gabe Reilly, one of the founders of Collective, a watch community based in California, the dial should evoke Hawaii, where he had studied, and it was from photos of Lanikai Beach that the starting point was defined.

The production of the blue enamel dial was the responsibility of Donzé Cadrans, one of the greatest specialists in enamel dials, through a lengthy and elaborate process, with several steps that included pressing the gold dial to gain a concave shape, a hand-engraved mould to create an irregular textured wave pattern, stamping the mould onto the dial, baking and sanding. The result is an embossed dial that tries to recreate not only the effect of waves but also of sand, producing different effects of shadow and light.

Thus, the new Antarctique P.04 “Lanikai” is dressed in a stainless steel case measuring 40.5mm by 10.6mm, which comes with a satin brushed on the main surfaces and polished on the edges, crown with crown guards, sapphire glass front and on the case back and 120 meters of water resistance.

The beautiful blue enamel that we discussed above also features two hour and minute hands filled with luminescent material and a yellow centre seconds hand that evokes sand and contrasts with the blue tones in the background.

Inside beats the Caliber SXH5 with a micro-rotor made of recycled platinum, which operates at 28,800 Vph and offers up to 60 hours of power reserve. The movement can be seen through the open case back highlighted by its seven bridges.

The watch is offered with the traditional integrated bracelet which, like the case, features generalized satin brushed with the exception of the “C” connecting links which come with a polished finish.

It is a limited edition of just 50 pieces that can be purchased exclusively on the Collective website for a price of USD 26,500.

Czapek Debuts Titanium in the Antarctique Collection

Let’s go for a new Pitch Watch

Czapek opens the year with the launch of the new Antarctique Dark Titanium Sector, maintaining its commitment to the sports model with an integrated bracelet launched in 2020.

The most recent element of the Antarctique collection, in addition to debuting in the collection the titanium material also features new a dial.

Thus, the new anthracite dial drops the previously applied baton hour markers which now give way to two applied hour rings, another novelty is the disappearance of the date window at 6 o’clock, as had already happened with the “Frozen Star S”, keeping the hour and minute pencil hands and the central second’s hand with the red tip.

On the outside and as already mentioned, the new Antarctique starts to wear a titanium case of 40.5mm in diameter by 10.6mm thick with an alternating brushed finish with a polished finish on the bezel and edges and which also extends to the bracelet in the same way. It should also be noted that the “C” shaped interconnection links no longer come with a polished finish, assuming a homogeneous brushed finish over the entire bracelet surface. All the previous elements remain, namely the fluted crown at three o’clock, sapphire glass on the front and on the case back and 120m of water resistance.

The heart of the new Antarctique remains the SXH5 automatic movement with a 100% recycled platinum micro-rotor, which operates at 28,800 Vph and offers up to 60 hours of power reserve.

In addition to the integrated titanium bracelet, the watch also comes with an additional calf leather or rubber strap.

The new Antarctique Dark Titanium Sector will be available from April 1, 2023, in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers for the price of CHF 32,000 before taxes and although it is not a limited edition it is limited to an annual production of 100 pieces.

Czpek Moves its Facilities to La-Chaux-De-Fonds

The company’s new standalone building in La-Chaux-de Fonds, a hub of Swiss watchmaking, houses a large, light-filled room with windows on three sides overlooking the surrounding greenery. It is the inspiring workspace for a growing team of watchmakers tasked with fulfilling Czapek’s surging order book. How this was achieved in a few years is the remarkable story of a young brand that strategically defied the odds in a competitive market. For a new watchmaker, reaching the five year mark is crucial. It’s when collectors, who often form the backbone of a company’s clientele, can assume that a brand is successful.

Czapek & Cie celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2020. Until that point it had been producing up to 180 timepieces a year. But it now faced a challenge in the form of the coronavirus pandemic. “We had a dramatic choice to make, either pause, like many others, or go into overdrive,” says Xavier de Roquemaurel, the company CEO. “We decided to press ahead, because we realized that watch lovers love watches every single day, and they were looking to see what we were doing!”

The decision paid up. To proceed with the strategic launch of the Antarctique line, de Roquemaurel recalls – almost nostalgically now – having to drive components around the Jura mountains to the Czapek partners who were still working. The company’s fans grew incrementally with each new release of models like the limited editions Antarctique Passage de Drake Roaring Forties or the Viridian Green for Fratello. They were often sold out in a matter of hours. The order books started filling up, too.

For the team leading the company, the acceleration is gratifying: “Until then, our cash burn was like a prairie fire in our backs,” de Roquemaurel remembers. “Now we finally glimpsed green spaces and it ushered in Czapek’s second Golden Age.” This year, the company will be producing up to 800 timepieces.

Growth, however, requires agility and careful handling. To maintain its laser focus on quality, Czapek will continue working with its dedicated manufacturing partners, who are at the high end of the Swiss watchmaking tradition.

At the same time, the company aims to ramp up production at the new workshop. “We will bring in more watchmakers, and, if need be, the building next door is also available,” says de Roquemaurel. The mid-term goal is to be able to manufacture up to 3,000 watches a year. “It’s ambitious, but Czapek has the know-how and now the space to open its next chapter”.
