For 2026, Cartier enriches the collection with three refined new references that introduce an entirely new case size, a beautifully executed mesh bracelet, and an exclusive obsidian dial variant that ensures every watch is inherently unique.

A New Case Size for an Icon

The latest additions preserve the unmistakable identity of the Santos-Dumont, staying true to the elegant square silhouette that has defined the collection for over a century. This year’s novelties debut a new case format measuring 31.40 mm in width, 7.30 mm in thickness, and 43.50 mm lug-to-lug, offering proportions that strike a refined balance between classic dress-watch elegance and contemporary wrist presence.

Cartier presents the new models in precious metals, with versions crafted in yellow gold and platinum, underscoring the elevated positioning of the release. Hallmark design signatures remain firmly intact: the raised bezel punctuated by the Maison’s iconic visible screws, the grained crown set with a cabochon, and a modest 30-meter water resistance, consistent with the watch’s refined character.

Classic Cartier Design with a Unique Mineral Dial

Two of the three new references embrace the timeless visual language collectors instantly associate with the Santos-Dumont. Their silvered satin-finish dials feature oversized Roman numerals, a crisp railroad minute track, and a pair of elegant blued hands for the hours and minutes — unmistakably Cartier in execution.

The standout piece of the trio is without question the exclusive obsidian dial reference. Cartier replaces the classic silvered display with a dial crafted from Mexican volcanic obsidian, cut to an astonishing thickness of just 0.3 mm. Due to the natural variations within the stone, no two dials are identical, making every piece unique. Contrasting beautifully against the dark mineral surface are gilded hands, adding warmth and a more luxurious visual signature.

Pricing and Availability

Cartier has now confirmed retail pricing for the new 2026 Santos-Dumont references.

The yellow gold model with the silvered dial is priced at € 39,300, while the more exclusive platinum version with the silvered dial comes in at € 50,500.

Positioned between the two is the yellow gold reference with the gilded obsidian dial, which retails for € 41,300 — a relatively modest premium over the standard yellow gold version considering its unique stone dial construction.
