Cartier Brings Back The Roadster With A Refined Design And Updated Movements
Cartier Roadster first introduced in 2002, the collection quickly carved out its own identity within the Maison’s storied watchmaking portfolio, blending unmistakable automotive inspiration with Cartier’s timeless design language. Now, for 2026, the Roadster makes a highly anticipated return, reimagined with sharper lines, refined proportions, and contemporary technical updates while remaining faithful to the model’s unmistakable DNA.

The reborn Cartier Roadster arrives as a bold statement of style and heritage, offered in three material configurations — yellow gold, steel and gold, and full stainless steel — and available in two sizes designed to suit a broad range of wrists.
A Design Rooted in Motion
When the original Roadster debuted in the early 2000s, it stood apart with its speedometer-inspired dial, integrated bracelet, prominent screws, and its distinctive date magnifier reminiscent of a car’s headlight. These signature design elements return in the 2026 collection, reaffirming the watch’s connection to the world of classic sports cars while embracing a more contemporary aesthetic.

The case architecture has been refined with noticeably sharper contours and cleaner transitions, giving the Roadster a more modern presence without sacrificing the fluid silhouette that made the original such a standout piece.
The Large Model: Pure Steel Presence
Leading the collection is the larger Roadster model, offered exclusively in stainless steel. It measures 38mm in width by 47mm lug-to-lug, with a slim profile of 10.06mm, proportions that strike an elegant balance between sporty presence and everyday wearability.
Its tonneau-shaped case is topped by a bezel secured with four screws, perfectly integrated into the overall design. The crown remains seamlessly built into the case flank and is adorned with Cartier’s signature metal cabochon, a refined detail that underscores the Maison’s luxury credentials.

Water resistance is rated at 100 meters, making this Roadster more versatile than ever.
The dial remains unmistakably Cartier: a white base decorated with a refined striated circular motif that reinforces the automotive inspiration. Blue Roman numerals and the brand’s signature sword-shaped hands bring classic elegance, while the hands are now filled with Super-LumiNova for improved legibility in low light. The date display sits at 3 o’clock, accompanied by the Roadster’s signature magnifier lens integrated into the case profile.
Powering the watch is Cartier’s reliable automatic Calibre 1847 MC, a modern in-house movement known for its robustness and everyday practicality.
Completing the package is a newly reworked three-row bracelet, now more ergonomic and better integrated into the wrist. Cartier also equips the watch with its QuickSwitch system, allowing easy strap changes without tools, and includes an additional blue alligator leather strap.
The Medium Model: More Versatility, More Choice
The medium-sized Roadster broadens the collection with greater variety. Measuring 34.50mm by 42.50mm and just 9.70mm thick, it is offered in three versions: yellow gold, two-tone yellow gold and steel, and full stainless steel.
Beyond the material differences, the overall design language remains faithful to the larger model, preserving the same sculpted case, integrated crown, screw-fixed bezel, and 100-meter water resistance.

The dial executions, however, introduce subtle character distinctions. The yellow gold and two-tone references feature elegant white dials paired with gilt Roman numerals and matching hands, emphasizing a more classic and luxurious appeal.
The stainless steel version takes a sportier route with a blue dial complemented by silver-tone numerals and hands, offering a contemporary contrast that feels particularly fresh.
Inside, Cartier equips the medium models with the automatic Calibre 1899 MC, ensuring the same level of mechanical sophistication and daily reliability.
Each version is paired with a matching three-row bracelet in the same metal as the case. Additional straps further enhance versatility: the gold and two-tone models receive an extra grey alligator leather strap, while the steel version is accompanied by a blue rubber strap for a more casual sporting look.
