Capricorn 01 Zagato: The Return Of Analog Driving
Zagato has joined forces with the German company Capricorn to create the Capricorn 01, a hypercar that celebrates pure, analog driving in an increasingly digital world.

At its core beats a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 from Ford, paired with a five-speed manual transmission—a deliberate nod to classic driver engagement. The engine produces over 900 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque, with homologation still pending. Thanks to a carbon fiber chassis inspired by LMP1 prototypes, the 01 weighs under 1,200 kg, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds, and reaches 360 km/h.

True to its philosophy of minimal electronic interference, the Capricorn 01 avoids digital distractions. Electric steering assists only at low speeds, the Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes feature a bespoke ABS system, and traditional mirrors replace digital cameras.

Designed by Norihiko Harada, Zagato’s chief designer, the car aims for timeless elegance and aerodynamic efficiency without oversized wings—using ground effect instead to generate downforce. Inside, the cockpit evokes classic racing cars with analog instruments, fixed seats attached to the chassis, and gullwing doors. A small retractable screen provides the rear camera view, while drive modes—Comfort, Sport, and Track—are controlled from the steering wheel.

Limited to just 19 units, each priced from €2.95 million before taxes, the Capricorn 01 Zagato will be road-legal across Europe, offering a rare, mechanical connection in an era dominated by electronics.
