BWD X Chopard Present the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Bamford Edition ‘Desert Race’
Chopard teams up for the second time with BWD (Bamford Watch Department) to create the limited edition 50-piece Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Bamford Edition ‘Desert Race’ which celebrates the long partnership between Chopard and the Mille Miglia Race.
The new watch comes in a bead-blasted titanium case and a textured black dial with orange accents, incorporating a COSC-certified automatic movement. George Bamford was the first to test all the robustness and capabilities of the new Chopard by participating in the NORRA (National Off-Road Racing Association) 1000 Rally in Mexico, where according to himself the watch exceeded expectations.
The watch is dressed in a 43mm diameter by 11.43mm thick titanium case, which comes with a titanium bezel on which an orange 60-minute scale rests, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown at 3 o’clock with crown guards, sapphire case back fixed with 8 black screws and 100m water resistance.
On the frosted dial, highlight the applied Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock that come with orange contours, for the power reserve indicator inspired by a fuel tank at 9 o’clock and for the date window at 3 o’clock, and both displaying various orange details.
It is the rear window bordered by an orange ring that reveals the automatic movement Caliber 01.08-C COSC certified, which comes with a bidirectional rotor reaching 28,800 Vph and offering up to 60 hours of power reserve.
The watch is attached in a black woven-effect rubber strap with a folding clasp in bead-blasted steel.
Finally, it should be noted that those interested should not waste time as only 50 units will be distributed, which can be purchased at the price of £9,380 at the Bamford online store. At the time of this publication, there were only 14 units available.
