Bvlgari Unveils Exclusive Octo Finissimo Automatic Watches For 140th Anniversary
Bvlgari, which celebrates its 140th anniversary this year, marks the date with the launch of two limited editions of its famous Octo Finissimo Automatic watch.
The two new watches are presented in a stainless steel or in rose gold case, with the latter in a much smaller number, both of which stand out for featuring “Sketch Dial’s” introduced 2 years ago on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the collection.
On the outside, the watches wear the unique rectangular case full of bevels that characterizes the collection in stainless steel or 18k rose gold, which comes with a polished and satin finish, with dimensions of 40mm in diameter and just 6.40mm in thickness. Smooth bezel, sapphire crystal on the front and back, screw-down crown at 3 o’clock, 100m water resistance and integrated bracelet to match the butterfly clasp.
The dial, which is the main star here, is hand-drawn by Buonamassa Stigliani, who recreates the watch’s movement and has a background in the same tone as the case, also featuring two centre skeletonized hands with a black PVD coated and a discreet running seconds at 7 o’clock only revealed by its dark small hand.
It is through the rear sapphire crystal that also comes drawn, here with the black inscriptions “Edizione Limitata – 1/280” (or 1/70 in the case of the gold version) on the top and “1884 – 2024” on the bottom like the hand-painted work on the dial, you can see the ultra-thin BVL138 automatic movement with a micro-rotor measuring just 2.23mm in height and offering a robust 60h power reserve.
The two new Octo Finissimo Automatic, which are celebratory limited editions, come in 280 units for the steel version and 70 units for the rose gold variant, with prices varying between CHF 15,200 for the steel version and CHF 47,000 for the gold one.
