Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days Gets A Gübelin-Only Edition
Bulgari continues its mastery in ultra-thin watchmaking with a limited special edition created in collaboration with Swiss jeweller Gübelin. The Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days – Gübelin Special Edition presents a unique interpretation of Bulgari’s acclaimed Octo Finissimo design, distinguished by exclusive blue accents and an exceptional skeletonised movement with an extended power reserve.
Octagonal Titanium Case with Signature Finishing
Encased in grade 5 titanium, the watch measures 40 mm in diameter and showcases the geometric precision that defines the Octo Finissimo line. The sharply contoured octagonal case is rendered in a mix of satin-brushed and polished finishes, producing a subtle interplay of light across the surfaces. Despite its architectural complexity, the case remains lightweight and wearable, aided by titanium’s inherent properties. A ceramic insert in the crown adds both tactile contrast and functional grip. Water resistance is rated at 30 metres.
Skeleton Dial with Gübelin-Specific Blue Details
The dial is fully open-worked, exposing the finely finished BVL 199 SK movement beneath. In place of a traditional dial structure, the architecture of the movement becomes the focal point. Hands and hour markers are presented in a vivid Gübelin-exclusive shade of blue, offering legibility against the otherwise monochrome background. The small seconds subdial is integrated at 7:30 is shaded by a blue power reserve indicator, maintaining visual balance within the open display. Carefully proportioned faceted hands enhance visibility, addressing a common challenge in skeletonised watch design.
Ultra-Thin Manual Calibre with 192-Hour Reserve
Driving the watch is the manually wound calibre BVL 199 SK, developed and manufactured in-house by Bulgari. At just 2.50 mm thick, the movement stands out for its slim profile while achieving a substantial eight-day (192-hour) power reserve. Achieving such autonomy in an open-worked calibre of this thinness requires exceptional engineering and meticulous manufacturing. Components are skeletonised not only for visual effect but also to optimise space and energy flow.
The movement is visible from both the front and the sapphire crystal caseback. From the reverse side, the hand-finishing on bridges and bevelled edges is evident. A “Gübelin Special Edition” engraving appears in the same blue tone as the hands, discreetly tying the visual elements together.

Integrated Titanium Bracelet
The integrated bracelet continues the case’s visual language with flat, brushed titanium links. Designed for both lightness and comfort, it closes with a titanium folding clasp, ensuring secure wear. The bracelet’s minimalist design complements the case and underscores the watch’s sleek profile.
