Bulgari Octo Finissimo Automatic 37mm Review: Design, Movement, And Details
Presented at Watches & Wonders 2026, Bulgari continues to evolve its ultra-thin watchmaking expertise with a more compact interpretation of one of its most recognisable models. The Octo Finissimo Automatic 37 mm introduces a smaller case size alongside an entirely new movement, reinforcing the collection’s blend of architectural design and technical innovation.
A More Compact Octo, Without Losing Identity
Since its introduction, the Octo Finissimo has been defined by its strong geometric identity, a design language shaped by Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani and inspired by classical Roman architecture. This new 37 mm version preserves those defining characteristics, including the multi-layered octagonal case with its sharp, angular facets.

While the diameter has been reduced for improved wearability, the watch retains a slim 6.45 mm thickness, maintaining the refined proportions expected from the Finissimo line. The model is offered in three variations: a lightweight sandblasted titanium version, a more refined satin-polished titanium execution, and a warmer, more luxurious 18k yellow gold case. Each features a screw-down crown accented with a black ceramic insert, a sapphire caseback revealing the movement, and water resistance rated to 30 metres.
Clean, Recognisable Dial Design
The dial stays true to the minimalist aesthetic that defines the collection. It combines Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock with slim baton hour markers, while faceted Dauphine hands ensure clarity and precision. A small seconds display is positioned slightly off-centre between 7 and 8 o’clock, adding subtle asymmetry without disturbing the overall balance.

Material choices influence the visual tone of each version. The sandblasted titanium model features black hands and hour markers for a more contemporary, monochromatic look. The satin-polished titanium variant uses rhodium-plated elements to introduce contrast and brightness, while the yellow gold model is fitted with matching gold-toned hands and indices, reinforcing its more luxurious character.
The New BVF 100 Calibre
At the core of the watch is the newly developed BVF 100 automatic movement, designed specifically for this 37 mm case. Measuring 2.35 mm in thickness and 31 mm in diameter, the calibre continues Bulgari’s focus on ultra-thin engineering while introducing meaningful improvements in performance and robustness.

The movement is equipped with a platinum micro-rotor, enabling automatic winding while preserving a slim profile. Despite its compact dimensions, it delivers a 72-hour power reserve, an increase over previous generations. This improvement is largely due to a redesigned barrel that accommodates a larger mainspring, achieved by reducing the thickness of the barrel walls to their structural limits. The micro-rotor itself has been slightly thickened to maintain efficient winding.
Internally, the architecture follows a horizontal layout, optimising space distribution rather than stacking components vertically. Updates to the keyless works contribute to enhanced durability, while aesthetic refinements are visible through the sapphire caseback. These include radiating Geneva stripes on the bridges and newly designed octagonal screws and dial fixings, adding coherence with the case design.
Integrated Bracelet and Wearability
The Octo Finissimo Automatic 37mm is paired with an integrated bracelet that seamlessly extends the case’s angular geometry. The bracelet is secured using a screw-based system, ensuring a clean and robust construction. It is fitted with a discreet folding clasp featuring a push-button release mechanism, maintaining both comfort and ease of use.

Thanks to its reduced size and slim profile, the watch is positioned as a highly versatile daily wearer. The titanium versions emphasise lightness and comfort, while the gold variant adds a more substantial and refined presence on the wrist.
Pricing
The sandblasted titanium model is priced at € 17,700, while the satin-polished titanium version comes in slightly higher at € 18,500. For those seeking a more luxurious execution, the 18k yellow gold model is available at € 50,700.
