Built For Utility, Designed For Canada: The New Marathon ADANAC Steel Navigator
Marathon Watch, a brand with deep roots in both Canada and Swiss watchmaking, has unveiled a new limited-edition model: the ADANAC Stainless Steel Navigator Pilot’s Automatic. As part of a 500-piece release, this timepiece highlights Canadian heritage while maintaining the brand’s longstanding focus on military-grade precision and durability.

A Tribute in Form and Function
The ADANAC Navigator is built on Marathon’s Navigator platform, originally developed in 1986 for military pilots in collaboration with the U.S. Air Force. The design remains faithful to the mission-first philosophy but receives a visual refresh in celebration of Canada’s identity.

The most prominent feature is the red Maple Leaf symbol positioned just below 12 o’clock on the matte Arctic white dial. It’s a visual cue that complements the practical elements of the watch without overwhelming its utilitarian design.
Mechanical Movement Meets Tactical Engineering
Unlike the quartz versions used in early military contracts, this edition is powered by a Swiss-made automatic movement — the Sellita SW200 — known for its reliability and ease of servicing. It offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

Encased in 316L stainless steel, the watch measures 41 mm in diameter, with a lug-to-lug length of 48 mm, ensuring a comfortable fit across various wrist sizes. The 11.50 mm case thickness strikes a balance between robustness and wearability, while a 20 mm lug width allows for easy strap changes.
Dual-Time Capability and Operational Features
Designed for functionality, the ADANAC Stainless Steel Navigator is equipped with a red 12-hour unidirectional bezel, allowing wearers to track a second time zone—an essential feature for travelers and professionals operating across regions.

As with all Marathon tool watches, durability is a key component. The ADANAC is built to MIL-SPEC standards, ensuring shock resistance, water resistance, and protection against magnetic fields. The watch is topped with a sapphire crystal for scratch resistance and clarity in various lighting conditions.
Availability
The Marathon ADANAC Stainless Steel Navigator Pilot’s Automatic is limited to 500 individually numbered pieces. It is priced at € 1,543 and is available directly through Marathon and select authorized retailers.
