Three decades after Space Jam first hit movie theaters, Timex is celebrating the iconic basketball film with a playful new limited edition watch that blends nostalgic design with the brand’s well-known Q Timex formula. The new Space Jam x Q Timex 30th Anniversary Limited Edition combines vintage-inspired styling with several creative details dedicated to Bugs Bunny and the legendary 1996 movie.

The release arrives in a limited run of just 1,000 pieces worldwide and keeps the accessible pricing philosophy that has helped the Q Timex collection become one of the brand’s most popular lines.

Classic Q Timex Foundation

At its core, the watch stays faithful to the familiar Q Timex architecture. It comes housed in a 38 mm stainless steel case paired with an integrated stainless steel bracelet, delivering the retro sports-watch aesthetic that defines the collection.

The case is topped by a bi-color blue and gray elapsed-time bezel, reinforcing its vintage-inspired appearance. Protecting the dial is an acrylic crystal, another nod to classic Q Timex references from the late 1970s.

Inside, Timex equips the watch with a reliable quartz analog movement, offering practical everyday accuracy while helping keep the watch affordable.

A Dial Inspired by Space Jam

The main attraction is undoubtedly the dial design, which transforms the watch into a tribute to the beloved basketball movie.

Bugs Bunny appears wearing his Tune Squad uniform while facing a basketball hoop positioned on the opposite side of the dial. The official Space Jam 30th Anniversary logo is also integrated into the design, creating a playful yet balanced composition.

However, the most interesting detail is how the artwork interacts with the watch’s functionality. The basketball itself acts as the seconds hand, rotating around the dial once every minute.

Timex also added a clever three-dimensional effect to simulate the basketball passing through the hoop. The backboard is printed directly on the dial, while the hoop graphic is applied to the inside of the acrylic crystal, adding visual depth and motion as the seconds hand moves.

Fully Luminescent Artwork

Beyond the animated design, Timex gave considerable attention to the watch’s nighttime appearance.

The lume extends well beyond the standard hands and hour markers. Bugs Bunny, the Space Jam logo, the basketball, and even the backboard outlines all glow in the dark, making the entire dial come alive in low-light conditions.

This extensive use of luminescent material adds another layer of personality to the watch and helps distinguish it from more traditional character-themed releases.

The Space Jam x Q Timex 30th Anniversary Limited Edition is limited to only 1,000 units worldwide and is priced at € 259.
