Bugatti Destrier: A More Refined Interpretation Of The Bolide
Bugatti has transformed the extreme architecture of the Bolide into something more refined with the one-off Destrier, the latest creation from its Solitaire division.
Built around the same carbon-fibre monocoque as the Bolide, the Destrier retains its exceptionally low proportions and quad-turbocharged 8.0-litre W16, producing 1,578 hp and driving all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The major difference is its design. The Destrier replaces the Bolide’s aggressive aerodynamic elements with smoother, more elegant bodywork. The distinctive Bugatti C-line is emphasised with chrome detailing, while the large horseshoe grille receives its own chrome surround. New rounded headlights replace the Bolide’s X-shaped units, and the car sits on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels.
At the rear, the enormous Bolide wing and shark fin have been replaced by a lower integrated wing with a vertical brake light. Thin LED taillights and a substantial diffuser maintain the car’s performance-focused character.
The interior receives an equally bespoke treatment. Brown leather is combined with three-dimensional knitted textile featuring copper threads, while hammered-look metal details inspired by medieval armour appear across the cabin. Carbon fibre remains prominently integrated into the dashboard and control areas.
As a unique Solitaire project, the Destrier offers a more sophisticated interpretation of the Bolide’s technical foundations, combining extreme performance with a considerably more luxurious and handcrafted character.
The Bugatti Destrier made its public debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance during Monterey Car Week on August 16, 2026.
