Buccellati High Jewellery Arrives in Portugal
Buccellati, a high jewellery brand of Italian origin, belonging to the Swiss group Richemont – a reference in the luxury sector –, has just reinforced the portfolio of brands of the Tempus Group in Portugal.
The national leader in the sector of import and distribution of watchmaking and jewellery, the Tempus Group thus expands its offer in the strategic segment of the luxury jewellery business.
The century-old jewellery brand is now present in Portugal, exclusively at Boutique dos Relógios Plus Art, on Av. da Liberdade.
A prestigious brand of high jewellery, synonymous with Italian tradition, and admired for the uniqueness and craftsmanship of its creations, Buccellati is a true hymn to exclusivity.
The Buccellati style is that of art jewellery, and the brand is synonymous with unique pieces, strongly inspired by the middle ages or the renaissance. Its iconic style includes golden lace, cascading semi-precious stones and mysterious reflections of precious metals. A style, passed on from generation to generation, resulting from over a hundred years of creativity: the true statement of a timeless style and unique know-how.
Its founder, Mario Buccellati, known as “The Prince of Goldsmiths”, started early in the jewellery world, with a very young experience in the aristocratic jeweller Beltrami and Besnati, in Milan. Between La Scala and the Galleria, he learned and developed the best goldsmithing techniques and, always attentive and curious, perfectly captured the elegant ‘Milanese spirit’.
It was at the end of the 1st World War, in 1919, that Mario Buccellati opened his first shop, in Milan, immediately distinguishing himself by the application of his own jewellery techniques, such as the ‘lace’, the ‘tulle’ or the ‘ honeycombing’. Later, other engraving techniques emerged, such as ‘telato’, ‘rigato’, ‘segrinate’ and ‘ornato’, which elevated the Buccellati pieces to an artistic form – namely bracelets and other beauty accessories -, and made the brand in reference in the world of jewellery.
Despite new trends and movements, the brand’s collections are still inspired by drawings from historical archives and the first creations of its founder. Over the years, and with the success of the brand, Buccellati debuted in other categories of pieces, namely in silver jewellery, silver decoration and even in watchmaking.
The brand’s first international expansion took place in 1951, with the opening of its store in New York. Despite being 100% owned by the Richemont group, Maison Buccellati continues to have the presence of the Buccellati family in its management at the highest level. Buccellati is currently present in the most important cities in the world, such as New York, Chicago, London, Moscow, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, numerous Italian cities, and Paris.
Now, the brand’s most exclusive pieces of jewellery – which include earrings, bracelets, rings, pendants and necklaces – are now available in Portugal for the first time, exclusively at Boutique dos Relógios Plus Art, in Lisbon.
