Bremont Unveils The Terra Nova 38 Jumping Hour In Stealth Black DLC
With the Terra Nova collection, Bremont continues to broaden its portfolio beyond aviation-inspired chronometers, introducing historically influenced field-watch design combined with contemporary mechanics. The Terra Nova 38 Jumping Hour Stealth Black stands out within the range thanks to its digital-style hour display and fully blacked-out execution.

A Jumping Hour Mechanism Explained
Instead of using a traditional hour hand, the watch displays the hour through a rotating disc positioned beneath the dial. As the minute display completes its cycle, the hour numeral changes instantaneously. This effect is achieved through a spring-loaded system that gradually accumulates energy and releases it at the precise moment the minutes reach sixty. The result is a sharp, high-torque jump that occurs in less than one-tenth of a second.

Engineering such a complication requires careful management of energy delivery. The mechanism must provide enough force to move the hour disc instantly while maintaining stable amplitude and overall chronometric performance. The gear train and mainspring are therefore designed to handle both efficiency and durability.
Case and Dimensions
The watch is housed in a 38 mm stainless steel case measuring 9.10 mm in thickness. Its cushion-shaped profile aligns with the Terra Nova design language, while a full black DLC coating enhances surface hardness and gives the watch a uniform, tactical appearance. The predominantly matte, brushed finishing reinforces its utilitarian character.

The closed caseback is engraved with a world map motif. Despite its rugged visual identity and field-watch inspiration, the water resistance is rated to 30 meters.
Dial Layout and Display Configuration
The time display is organized vertically through three apertures integrated into a black DLC-coated protective shield. This architectural element recalls early 20th-century trench watches that used metal guards to protect the dial, as well as traditional “montre à guichet” aperture displays.

At 12 o’clock, a trapezoidal window reveals the jumping hour with white Arabic numerals. The central circular aperture incorporates the Wayfinder compass logo alongside a running seconds indication. At 6 o’clock, an arched window presents the minutes. For improved legibility in low-light conditions, the hour numerals and the seconds hand are treated with Super-LumiNova.
Calibre BC634
Powering the Terra Nova 38 Jumping Hour Stealth Black is the Bremont calibre BC634, an automatic movement based on the Sellita SW300 platform and equipped with a proprietary jumping hour module. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and delivers a power reserve of 56 hours.
Strap and Bracelet Options
The model is available on either a black DLC-coated stainless steel bracelet or a black calfskin leather Bund strap. The bracelet features a folding clasp and a quick-release system for easy interchangeability. The leather Bund strap references mid-20th-century pilot straps designed to protect the wrist from temperature extremes. Its wider protective pad can be removed, allowing it to be worn as a more conventional strap, and it also benefits from quick-release spring bars for convenient changes.

Price
The Terra Nova 38 Jumping Hour Stealth Black is priced at € 5,900 when fitted with the DLC-coated bracelet and € 5,450 on the leather Bund strap.
