Bremont Honors 2nd Centenary Of Royal National Lifeboat Institution
Bremont joins the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) to bring three new limited edition watches that wear the colors of the prestigious organization.
The RNLI, which operates in the UK and Ireland, was founded in 1824 and has an impressive history of saving more than 143,000 lives.
The new celebratory editions of 200 pieces each include the S500 and S300 dive watches in addition to the discontinued SOLO-34. They all share a blue sunburst dial with three central hands and the seconds hand displaying an orange tip, a date window and white inscriptions with the brand’s logo at noon and at 6 o’clock the institution’s initials ‘RNLI’ followed by the range of dates that mark its 200 years in orange. The three watches also share a solid rear case that is decorated in the center with the RNLI flag-shaped logo complemented by its motto – “With Courage Nothing Is Impossible” and “200th Anniversary” around it.
And starting with the more robust S500, it wears the usual Trip-Tick steel case measuring 43mm in diameter and 16.50mm thick, which comes with the helium exhaust valve and ceramic bezel that accompanies the blue dial, sapphire glass, screwed crown at 2 o’clock and case back and 500m of watertightness. On the dial, applied hour markers and hands filled with Super-LumiNova, a lollipop center seconds hand and a date window at 3 o’clock. The watch is powered by the BE-36AE automatic movement, which is Chronometer certified, reaching 28,800 Vph and offering up to 38 hours of power reserve.
Then we have the S300, which comes in a more moderate steel case measuring 40mm wide and 13mm high, blue unidirectional bezel, sapphire glass, screw-down crown at 3 o’clock, solid case back and 300m water resistance. On the dial we can find white printed hour markers and Arabic numerals, which, like the hands, are filled with luminescent material, a lollipop seconds hand and a date window at 3 o’clock next to the crown. Inside it is powered by the BE-92AE automatic movement that operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers 38 hours of power reserve when fully charged.
Lastly, we have the returned SOLO-34 which comes in a 34mm steel case, featuring a smooth bezel, sapphire crystal, crown at 3 o’clock and 100m waterproof. On the dial we find applied silver Arabic numerals and dot markers, faceted leaf hands and a date window at 6 o’clock. At its heart runs the Caliber BE-92AV automatic movement that reaches 28,800 Vph and offers up to 42 hours of power reserve.
The watches can be attached to a steel bracelet or with ribbed rubber straps in orange or blue for the S500 and S300 models or with a blue leather strap on the SOLO-34. With prices ranging from GBP 3,795 – 4,195 for the S500, GBP 3,295 – 3,695 for the S300 and GBP 3,195 – 3,395 for the SOLO-34, and with 12.50% going to charity.
