Breitling Top Time Deus is Back
In early 2021, Breitling and the Australian lifestyle brand Deus Ex Machina established a partnership with the launch of Top Time Deus, a limited edition of 1,500 pieces that we remember here.
A chronograph with a retro design that featured a Panda dial and various notes in orange and yellow dazzled the many fans of the two brands, making the watch sell out.
Today and almost two years later, the two brands are once again re-editing the Top Time Deus with a new limited edition of 2,000 pieces, which comes with the same design but with a new colour combination.
The new chronograph is housed in the same 41mm diameter by 14.2mm thick case that comes with a polished finish, fluted crown at three o’clock engraved with Breitling’s “B” flanked by two pump pushers, convex sapphire crystal and 30 meters of water resistance.
The dial distinguishes from the 2021 version, featuring the same white background (beige to be exact) but now with the tachymeter inner ring and the two squircle counters in sky blue, hour markers and plated hour and minute hands filled with Super-LumiNova. Everything else remains unchanged from the previous version, retaining the details in fiery tones including the central second’s hand in the shape of a lightning bolt and the black inscriptions of the Swiss watch brand and the Australian lifestyle brand at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock respectively.
The heart of the watch continues to be driven by the Caliber 23 automatic movement which is COSC certified, operating at 28,800 Vph and offering a power reserve of up to 48 hours. The movement is protected with a solid case back which, like the previous version, is engraved with the retro biker at speed and with the inscriptions of “Breitling + Deus” and “One of 2000” referring to the exclusive edition.
The watch is attached to a brown leather strap in the style of a “rally strap” with a yellow interior and is offered together with a travel tote bag in waxed cotton canvas created in partnership between the brands.
The two brands, as a result of this partnership, will also offer an exclusive line of clothing and accessories that can only be purchased in six of the main Breitling Boutiques around the world, which include the locations of Hannam, in Seoul; Madison Avenue in New York; Milan; New Bond Street and Regent Street in London; and Sydney.
The watches are now available in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers for a price of €5,500, which represents a premium of around €650 compared to the 2021 version.
