Breitling Expands the Premier Collection with the New B01 Chronograph 42
Launched for the first time in 1943, the Breitling Premier, a distinctive chronograph with elegant lines, today has more than 80 years of history, a journey of ups and downs marked by a long period of crossing the desert, it was already in 2018 that the brand resurrects that stylish model, consummated in 2021 with the launch of the Premier trio in 40mm, Breitling then had a Premier collection that featured the Heritage Chronograph models in 40mm and Heritage Duograph, and Heritage Datora both in 42mm that add different complications.
Today the brand decides once again to expand the collection with six new models, the Premier B01 Chronograph in 42mm, which in addition to its size now has the powerful In-house Caliber B01.
The new Premier, which is similar to the Premier B09 Chronograph 40, comes in five stainless steel variants and one in 18k red gold.
The new Premiers wears a 42mm diameter by 13.6mm thick case, sapphire glass on the front and on the case back, a fluted crown at three o’clock flanked by two rectangular push-buttons and 100m of water resistance.
The dial is offered in five different colours, salmon, black, beige, blue and green for the steel version and in beige for the gold version. Featuring the same layout as the 40mm version, consisting of a tachymeter outer ring, two registers, a 30-minute and running seconds at 3 and 9 o’clock respectively, applied Arabic hour markers, syringe hands filled with Super-LumiNova, a central chronograph seconds hand and now adding a date window at 6 o’clock. It should also be noted that the details of the “Tachymeter” inscription and the tip of the second hand are now highlighted in red.
As already mentioned, the inside operates the Caliber B01 automatic movement, first introduced in 2009 and redesigned in 2022, which is chronometer-certified, operating at a frequency of 4Hz and offering up to 70 hours of power reserve.
The latest news is that the watches, in addition to the leather strap option, are now also able to opt for a seven-link bracelet in the same material as the case.
The watches are available as of today in the brand’s official boutiques and authorized retailers, with prices ranging from €8,600 to €8,950 for the stainless steel version with strap or bracelet and between €19,600 and €38,500 for the version in red gold with a strap or bracelet.
