Breguet Presents The New Marine Tourbillon 5577
Breguet has just revealed the new Marine Tourbillon 5577 which, in addition to its ultra-thin movement, comes in the form of two variants.
Just 3mm thick defines the automatic movement that houses the 334 components of the Caliber 581, which, along with its off-centre tourbillon protected by a titanium cage, also adds a peripheral rotor and a silicon balance spring. It operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers an extraordinary 80 hours of power reserve.
The round case measuring 42.50 mm in diameter and 9.35 mm thick, comes in 18k rose gold or 950 platinum, with a coin-edge profile, two-stepped bezel and lugs integrated by a bridge. Sapphire crystal on the front and back with the latter revealing the carefully hand-decorated movement, screw-down crown with the brand’s signature and flanked by crown guards, and finally, 100m water resistance.
On the sunburst blue dial for the platinum version and on the sunburst brown dial for the rose gold version, we can find a wide peripheral ring on which rest applied Roman numerals filled with luminescent material, a printed minute track and a 60-second tourbillon fixed by means of a horizontal bridge at 5 o’clock. The centre of the dial, in addition to also being occupied by part of the tourbillon, also contains Breguet’s open-tipped hands, also charged with lume, and the Breguet’s wordmark at noon.
There are three strap options for each of the variants, with the platinum version being able to be attached to a rubber or a leather alligator straps, both in a shade of blue and priced at €178,900, while the rose gold version can arrive in a black rubber strap or a brown alligator leather strap, either of which is available for a price of €162,400. There is also the option for any of the variants to come with a bracelet made of the same material as the case, however, prices for this option will only be available upon request.
