Breguet Classique Double Tourbillon 5345 Quai de l’Horloge
Watches are like people, each has its own personality and each arouses tastes or indifference in others and there is no turning back. That is why I like watches so much, because regardless of whether they are complex or simple, expensive or cheap they awaken a huge smile on the faces of enthusiasts, while for others they are just a simple time machine without any importance.
The Breguet Classique Double Tourbillon Quai de l’Horloge is not just a watch, it is a watch with two Tourbillions, very complex at the technical level, with a skeletonized display and extremely ornate from the point of view of the detail.
Since we are talking about tastes, I must confess and this is not the first time I have done it in an article, that I am not a big enthusiast of very ornate watches, as well as skeletonized watches, also not a big fan of watches with Roman numerals, I appreciate more simple watches, and for that reason, I would say that conditions were met to not identify myself with this launch, however, I cannot help admiring the exceptional work of some brands in the design of their watches, in the number of hours spent in the construction of many components manufactured by hand, this watch is one of those rare pieces that we cannot remain indifferent to.
The detail is really surprising in this watch and there is no escaping it because if at the front we have the skeletonized dial through which we can observe the movement, at the case back we find the famous building of the brand nº. 39 Quai d’Horloge engraved by hand.
The watch comes in a 46mm platinum case, with a box-shaped front sapphire glass, we would say that it completes the shape of the watch case as a lid and therefore almost divides the total thickness with the case, inside we find the chapter ring marked with the hours in Roman numerals in blue tones, through the skeletonized dial we can see the barrel bridges in the shape of “B”, the cross-arm that connects the two Tourbillions, is half painted in satin blue because it takes on a second function, as the hour hand, still in relation to the two turbillions they operate independently and each completes a rotation for each minute, also mentioning that both tourbillions are based on the movement plate which completes one lap on the watch case every 12 hours.
On the case back we have the famous Breguet building engraved by hand in an extraordinary work with precious details such as some golden wheels that are leftover and that jump out at our eyes and that represent the light produced by candles inside the building, it is also possible to detect the shape of a person looking through one of the lower windows of the building, among many other details in which we could get lost in the time, so we will never tire of extolling the impressive work of these artisans.
Regarding the availability of this watch, the price is $ 631,000 and production is limited. Despite being a piece within reach of a few, we challenge you to visit one of the brand’s stores and see the watch up close if you are in an area where the watch is available.
