Brabus 900 Rocket Cabrio: 900 HP In An Open-Top G-Class
Brabus has transformed the Mercedes-AMG G 63 into one of its most extreme creations yet. Revealed at the Monaco Yacht Show, the 900 Rocket Cabrio combines a 900-hp V8 with a four-door convertible body, bespoke suspension and extensive carbon-fibre components.
Limited to just ten examples worldwide, the project required Brabus to develop more than 500 new components, particularly for the conversion from a closed-roof SUV to an open-top vehicle.

At the heart of the Rocket Cabrio is a heavily reworked version of the AMG V8. Displacement increases from 4.0 to 4.5 litres, with forged pistons, connecting rods and a dedicated crankshaft.
The result is 900 metric horsepower (888 hp) and 1,250 Nm of peak torque. Brabus electronically limits torque delivered to the wheels to 1,050 Nm, allowing the Cabrio to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reach a limited 240 km/h.

Removing the roof from a G-Class creates significant structural challenges. Brabus reinforced the windscreen frame and added additional bracing throughout the body, while a steel roll bar behind the rear doors provides further protection.
The two-piece electrically operated fabric roof opens or closes in around 20 seconds and incorporates a heated glass rear window. Each completed vehicle is also subjected to more than ten hours of simulated rain testing in a climate chamber to verify the roof’s sealing.

The aggressive stance is completed by 24-inch forged Brabus Monoblock II wheels, fitted with 295/30 tyres at the front and massive 345/25 units at the rear.
A KW-developed adjustable suspension lowers the vehicle by approximately 45 mm, while the exhaust system features switchable valves and four side-exit tailpipes. A quieter “Coming Home” mode can be replaced by the more aggressive Sport setting.

Each vehicle also receives a blockchain-based digital passport documenting its authenticity, ownership history and individual specifications.
The Brabus 900 Rocket Cabrio is limited to ten units, with the example presented in Monaco priced at € 890,740 before VAT.

With Mercedes-AMG itself preparing a production G 63 Cabriolet for 2027, the Brabus version arrives at an interesting moment for the return of the open-top G-Class. However, with its 900-hp engine, extensive structural modifications and extremely limited production, the Rocket Cabrio occupies a considerably more exclusive position.
