Blancpain continues to strengthen its classic Villeret collection with the arrival of new versions of the Villeret Ultraplate 38mm, a dress watch that combines restrained proportions, elegant aesthetics and practical everyday functionality.

Positioned as one of the most accessible entry points into the Villeret family, the Ultraplate embraces the traditional codes of Swiss dress watchmaking while benefiting from modern materials and updated design details.

Compact Dimensions for Contemporary Tastes

The Villeret Ultraplate is housed in a 38 mm case measuring only 8.35 mm in thickness, dimensions that reinforce its elegant character and make it suitable for a wide variety of wrist sizes. The 43.35 mm lug-to-lug distance further contributes to comfortable wear and allows the watch to slip easily under a shirt cuff.

The case retains the collection’s signature stepped bezel and fully polished surfaces, while subtle refinements to its profile align it more closely with the larger 40mm Villeret models available in the collection.

Customers can choose between polished stainless steel and 18k rose gold cases depending on their preference for a more understated or luxurious appearance.

New Dial Colours Lead the 2026 Refresh

The most notable changes arrive on the dial side, where Blancpain introduces warmer tones and softer textures to the collection.

For the first time, the Villeret Ultraplate 38 mm is available with a sunray-brushed salmon dial housed in a stainless steel case. The copper-toned dial is paired with an anthracite strap and complemented by white gold hands and hour markers, creating one of the most distinctive executions in the collection.

The remaining references feature an opaline dial finished in a soft golden-beige shade. This more discreet dial is offered in a stainless steel model fitted with white gold hands and indexes, while those seeking a warmer aesthetic can opt for the 18k rose gold version with matching rose gold accents. Blancpain also introduces a boutique-exclusive edition that combines a stainless steel case with yellow gold hands and markers and pairs it with an olive-green strap for a slightly more contemporary look.

Updated Details and Improved Legibility

Several subtle revisions modernise the appearance of the dial while preserving the identity of the Villeret collection.

The applied Roman numerals have been resized to create improved visual balance and are crafted from solid gold with satin-brushed upper surfaces and polished bevelled edges. Replacing the traditional Roman numeral at 12 o’clock is the “JB” monogram, a tribute to Jehan-Jacques Blancpain, founder of the manufacture.

Leaf-shaped hands continue to define the collection but now incorporate a discreet application of Super-LumiNova, improving readability in low-light environments without compromising the watch’s elegant appearance.

A generously sized date aperture positioned at 3 o’clock adds practical functionality for daily wear.

Powered by the Automatic Calibre 1150

Turning the watch over reveals Blancpain’s in-house automatic Calibre 1150 through the sapphire crystal caseback.

The movement offers an impressive four-day power reserve and benefits from a silicon hairspring, providing improved resistance to magnetism and greater long-term stability.

Finishing includes Geneva stripes, polished bevels and carefully decorated components throughout the movement.

The stainless steel models receive a newly designed openworked yellow gold rotor, while the rose gold reference features a matching oscillating weight in the same precious metal.

Interchangeable Straps as Standard

Each reference is delivered on a nubuck alligator leather strap, with colours carefully chosen to complement the various dial configurations, including anthracite, beige, honey and olive green.

Blancpain also equips the collection with a tool-free interchangeable strap and buckle system, allowing owners to swap straps quickly and easily without the need for additional tools.

Availability and Price

The new Villeret Ultraplate 38 mm references join Blancpain’s permanent catalogue rather than being released as limited editions.

Pricing starts at CHF 9,600 for the stainless steel versions, while the 18k rose gold model is priced at CHF 19,700. The stainless steel reference featuring yellow gold dial accents and an olive-green strap will be available exclusively through Blancpain boutiques.
