Biver Automatique Japan Editions: Exclusive Rose Gold & Platinum Releases
Biver expands its luxury watch collection with two exclusive Japan-only editions of the Biver Automatique. These new timepieces, available solely through The Hour Glass, present a refined dial layout while maintaining the brand’s signature design philosophy.
Refined Aesthetics: A Case for Elegance
Encased in 18k rose gold or platinum, the 39mm Biver Automatique retains its sophisticated proportions. Measuring 10mm in thickness and 47.60mm lug-to-lug, the watch features a primarily brushed finish with polished bevels and bezel for added contrast. While visually appealing, a smaller 34mm to 36mm case size could have made it more accessible to a broader audience.
A sapphire crystal protects both the dial and exhibition case back, while the fluted crown at 3 o’clock carries an embossed Biver emblem. With 80m water resistance, secured by a case back with four screws, this timepiece blends refinement with durability.
Horological Excellence: The JCB-003 Micro-Rotor Movement
Powering the Biver Automatique is the Caliber JCB-003, a 36-jewel automatic movement with a micro-rotor design. Operating at 25,200 Vph, it boasts an impressive 65-hour power reserve. However, its true marvel lies in the meticulous finishing—guillochage, anglage, and perlage—along with an 18k gold rotor that makes flipping the watch over an absolute necessity for connoisseurs.
Dial Craftsmanship: A Masterpiece in Simplicity
Available in black enamel (rose gold edition) and white enamel (platinum edition), the dials undergo a meticulous 10-hour enamel layering process over 22k rose gold and 18k white gold bases. Additional 6 hours of polishing ensure a flawless sheen, while faceted hour markers, Dauphine hands, a railway minute track, and a spear-tipped seconds hand complete the refined aesthetic. The Biver signature at 12 o’clock adds a final touch of prestige.
Limited & Exclusive: Pricing and Availability
Paired with a 19mm alligator leather strap (black for platinum, brown for rose gold), each edition features a nubuck lining and matching hardware. The rose gold edition is priced at CHF 89,000, while the platinum version retails for CHF 92,000. The number of pieces remains undisclosed, further enhancing their exclusivity.
For collectors and watch enthusiasts, the Biver Automatique Japan Limited Editions represent the pinnacle of Swiss haute horlogerie, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern sophistication.
