Bell & Ross Unveils BR-05 Skeleton Phantom Ceramic In Full Black Ceramic

In the ever-evolving cityscape of watch design, Bell & Ross steps into the shadows with a timepiece that blurs the line between architecture and art. The new BR-05 Skeleton Phantom Ceramic emerges as a stealthy statement—bold, sculptural, and unapologetically modern.

Limited to just 500 pieces, this edition cloaks the signature BR-05 silhouette in deep black ceramic, giving it a monochromatic edge that feels both futuristic and primal. But the real spectacle lies beneath the surface: a fully skeletonized dial that strips the watch down to its essence, revealing the rhythmic soul of mechanical timekeeping.

A Case of Precision and Contrast

At the heart of the BR-05 Skeleton Phantom Ceramic is a 41 mm case crafted from brushed and polished black ceramic, engineered for both durability and a refined finish. The case thickness measures 11.20 mm, maintaining a comfortable and streamlined profile on the wrist. Its geometric design—rounded square with integrated lugs—follows the BR-05 collection’s urban DNA, while the use of ceramic gives it enhanced scratch resistance and a distinct matte sheen.

A flat sapphire crystal covers the front, complemented by a sapphire exhibition caseback, showcasing the openworked automatic movement. The case is fitted with a screw-down crown positioned at 3 o’clock, flanked by crown guards, ensuring 100 meters of water resistance.

Skeletonized Dial with Phantom Finish

Like previous BR-05 Skeleton models, the Phantom Ceramic features a skeletonized dial that puts the movement architecture on display. The dial is built upon a smoked sapphire crystal plate, providing a semi-transparent view into the mechanical inner workings.

In keeping with the “Phantom” theme, the hands and hour markers are finished entirely in black, with black Super-LumiNova applied to ensure nighttime legibility. The lume emits a green glow in the dark, offering a stark contrast to the all-black aesthetic during low light conditions.

Movement: A Custom Skeleton Architecture

Powering the watch is the BR-CAL.322-1 automatic movement, a proprietary skeletonized caliber based on the Sellita SW300. The movement has been re-engineered with customized bridges and plates to highlight its mechanical geometry and deliver enhanced transparency through the dial and caseback.

Operating at a 4 Hz frequency (28,800 vibrations per hour), it offers a 54-hour power reserve. The BR-CAL.322-1 is known for its reliability and serviceability, while its skeletonized form aligns perfectly with the transparent design language of the watch.

Strap Options and Price

The BR-05 Skeleton Phantom Ceramic is available in two configurations: with a black rubber strap with a black PVD-coated steel folding clasp, priced at € 9,100, or with a matching black ceramic bracelet with integrated links and a PVD-coated steel clasp for € 9,990.

Both options enhance the monochromatic identity of the watch, with the integrated bracelet offering a seamless, all-ceramic presence, and the rubber strap providing a more flexible, sporty alternative.
