Baume & Mercier Presents the Riviera Azur 300m and the Riviera 39
Baume & Mercier updated its Riviera collection, a watch launched in the 1950s and which was reintroduced in the collection in 2021.
The Swiss brand now opts to revive the diving watch of the 80s, the Riviera Azur 300m, and fill a gap that existed in the collection and also add the new size of 39mm to the collection, which was another issue in the line.
Riviera 39mm
The new size is very similar to its predecessors at 36 and 42mm, featuring the same 12-sided bezel and case design, now available in 39mm diameter by 10.2mm thick size, in addition to the two versions that come with a case and stainless steel bezel with blue or grey dial, there is also a third option available that comes with a steel case and titanium bezel with grey dial.
The semi-transparent sapphire dial comes with the usual wave pattern, applied hour markers and Roman numerals, sword hands filled with luminescent material, a central seconds hand and a date window at 3 o’clock. It should also be noted that the steel and titanium version comes with golden accents.
Inside, the biggest novelty is the powerful Baumatic BM14 movement, which is COSC certified, with an accuracy of -4 to +6 seconds/day, operating at 28,800 Vph and offering up to 120 hours (5 days) of power reserve.
The new 39mm Riviera is available with a bracelet or with options for a rubber or leather strap to matching the dial.
Prices range from €3,990 for the steel versions to €4,250 for the steel and titanium version.
Riviera Azur 300m
The new dive watch from the Riviera collection is presented in a stainless steel case measuring 42mm in diameter and 12mm thick, the traditional 12-sided bezel that now adds an anodized aluminium insert and ring underneath matching the dial.
The semi-transparent sapphire dial available in blue or grey with the wave pattern, presents some novelties, in addition to the applied hour markers and Roman numerals, it now comes with shovel hands and a central seconds hand with the shape of the brand’s logo on the counterweight and all filled with luminescent material, the latest addition is the date window, which appears on the diving Riviera at the 4 1/2 o’clock position.
Inside, just like the new 39mm Riviera, it receives the Caliber BM14 with an automatic movement that we already talked about above.
The watch is offered with the options of a rubber strap in the same hue as the dial or a steel bracelet, with prices ranging from €4,150 to €4,300 respectively.
