Baltic Refreshes Its Classic Diver With The Aquascaphe MK2
The Aquascaphe has been at the heart of Baltic’s lineup since its debut seven years ago, standing out as one of the brand’s most recognizable and accessible dive watches. Now, the French independent brand introduces the Baltic Aquascaphe MK2, an updated version that refines the formula with new proportions, upgraded details, and versatile configurations.

Refined Case Options
One of the most notable changes is the introduction of two case sizes. For those who prefer a traditional, vintage-inspired diver, the Aquascaphe MK2 is offered in 37 mm, while a slightly bolder 39.50 mm version brings a more contemporary presence to the wrist. Both cases measure 12.90 mm in thickness and are crafted from 316L stainless steel, ensuring durability and comfort. The design includes 200m of water resistance, a screw-down crown with newly added crown guards, and a solid caseback decorated with geometric wave patterns. With a 20 mm lug width and drilled lugs, strap changes are quick and convenient, making the watch adaptable to a variety of styles.

Updated Dial and Bezel Design
The new Aquascaphe MK2 is available in four dial variations, with glossy finishes offered in blue and green, while grained textures are featured on grey and warm silver dials. Each dial sits beneath a double-domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating, ensuring clarity from every angle. Surrounding the dial is a 120-click unidirectional bezel fitted with a sapphire insert, providing both durability and scratch resistance.

The dial layout has also been updated. Instead of the sandwich construction of the earlier model, the MK2 features applied hour markers filled with three-dimensional lumicast in Super-LumiNova BGW9, which improves both depth and nighttime legibility. The hands have been redesigned to appear bolder and more defined, while a printed chapter ring with five-minute intervals provides precise time tracking.
Movement and Performance
At the heart of the Aquascaphe MK2 is the reliable Miyota 9039 automatic movement. Known for its dependability, this Japanese caliber powers hours, minutes, and central seconds with hacking functionality and delivers a 42-hour power reserve, making it a solid choice for daily use.

Strap and Bracelet Options
To complement the case and dial combinations, Baltic offers the Aquascaphe MK2 with several strap and bracelet configurations. Buyers can choose the sporty tropical-style strap made from FKM rubber, a vintage-inspired beads of rice stainless steel bracelet, or a flat-link stainless steel bracelet that emphasizes a more contemporary style.

The retail price is set at € 630 when paired with the rubber strap and € 695 when mounted on either of the stainless steel bracelets. Orders open on September 25.
A Modern Classic, Refined
With its careful updates, the Baltic Aquascaphe MK2 strikes a thoughtful balance between vintage inspiration and modern practicality. The improved lume application, versatile sizing, and choice of finishes enhance the appeal of a model that has already proven its place in Baltic’s collection. This is a diver that manages to respect its roots while offering refinements suited for today’s enthusiasts.
