Baltic Refines Its Flagship Diver With The New Aquascaphe MK2 Date
French independent watchmaker Baltic has expanded its refreshed Aquascaphe MK2 collection with the introduction of the Aquascaphe MK2 Date, a new version that answers one of the most common requests from enthusiasts by adding a discreet date complication while preserving the model’s clean, vintage-inspired design.

Rather than altering the character of its flagship dive watch, Baltic has integrated the date display with remarkable restraint, ensuring the watch retains the balanced proportions and timeless aesthetics that have made the Aquascaphe one of the most popular microbrand divers on the market.
A Date Window Designed to Blend In
One of the biggest challenges when adding a date to a symmetrical dive watch is avoiding a disruption to the dial layout. Baltic addresses this by positioning the date aperture at 6 o’clock, replacing the lower hour marker instead of opting for the traditional 3 o’clock location.
The result is a dial that remains visually balanced, with the date becoming part of the overall design rather than standing out as an afterthought.

Adding to this subtle integration, each version receives a colour-matched date disc.
The framing around the date window also matches the dial printing, helping the complication almost disappear unless viewed closely.
The Same Updated Aquascaphe MK2 Platform
The new Aquascaphe MK2 Date builds on the second-generation Aquascaphe platform introduced by Baltic last September. As such, it retains all the refinements that accompanied the MK2 update, including the choice of 37 mm or 39.50 mm stainless steel cases, Lumicast solid ceramic hour markers, larger hands with generous Super-LumiNova application and a fully graduated unidirectional bezel. The watch is also available in the same four dial colours — Blue, Grey, Green and Warm Silver — with the only visual distinction being the discreet date display positioned at 6 o’clock.

Miyota 9015 Automatic Movement
Powering the Aquascaphe MK2 Date is the reliable Miyota Calibre 9015, replacing the no-date Miyota 9039 used in the standard model.

The automatic movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and delivers approximately 42 hours of power reserve. Despite incorporating a date complication, the movement allows Baltic to maintain the same case thickness as the time-only version, avoiding any compromise in wearability.
Availability and Pricing
The new Baltic Aquascaphe MK2 Date is available now across the entire collection, with all four dial colours offered in both 37 mm and 39.50 mm case sizes. Customers can choose between a rubber strap or one of Baltic’s stainless steel bracelet options.

Adding the date complication comes with a modest premium over the time-only model. The Aquascaphe MK2 Date starts at € 805.65 on a rubber strap, while the no-date version remains available from € 774.90.
