Baltic Presents The New Prismic Collection
The latest addition to the Baltic universe has just arrived and is called Prismic, it comes with four different shades on the dial, in a stainless steel and titanium case and attached to a leather strap or mesh bracelet.
Unlike the other dress watches in the collection, the new Baltic Prismic features a bold design and extravagant accents inspired by cocktail watches from the 50s and 60s that, as the name suggests, were intended to stand out.
The newest member of the collection like its more elegant brother MR01 wears a case measuring 36mm in diameter by 44mm lug-to-lug distance and 9.20mm thick which means it is thinner, once again excellent size, we never tire of praising it.
The base of the case is made of Grade 5 Titanium, while the straight drilled lugs, along with the smooth bezel and the open rear case hold by four screws are made of 316L stainless steel. We can also find, domed sapphire crystal, fluted crown at 3 o’clock and 30m of water resistance.
The dial, which we can find in four colors: grey blue, salmon, purple or green, features an underneath center in Guilloché and which we also find next to the edges, a wide ring with a circular brushed finish on which sit polished hour markers in tower and baton shape, Daupphine hands with brushed finish and finally, a small seconds at 6 o’clock that comes with a grained background and a round silver bezel.
It is through the glass of the rear case that we can observe the internal manual movement ETA Peseux 7001 that operates 21,600 Vph and offers up to 42 hours of power reserve.
The watches come attached to a leather strap with a steel pin buckle or a steel mesh bracelet with a folding clasp, with prices varying between €1,218 for the first option and €1,292 for the second. The pre-order period begins today and extends for 10 days with delivery in July, and the following ones in October.
Our Opinion
At first glance it may not work considering the more classic design that the brand has accustomed us to, but the retro design remains perhaps a little more fancy, which over time we end up getting used to and not disliking.
We believe that Baltic has taken a risk here by thinking outside of the box, which is not bad, we always need to break new ground, and that’s why we think that the new Prismic probably won’t be for everyone but will certainly gain its place in the collection over time.
