Baltic Presents The New Hermétique Tourer
Baltic presents the new Hermétique Tourer collection that features a field watch. The new watch comes in four dial colour variants, featuring a 37mm steel case with 150m water resistance, a dial with luminous accents and three hands. Powered by Myota automatic movement and multiple strap options.
The French watchmaking brand Baltic presents the new Hermétique Tourer collection, which joins the brand’s other permanent collections – Aquascaphe, Bicompax, Tricompax, HMS and MR01.
Once again inspired by neo-classical models, a field watch now arrives, which in addition to bridging a gap fits perfectly between the three resident categories until now, which were divided between diving watch, chronograph and dress watch.
The new watches follow the brand’s policy of moderate sizes and elegant design, embracing a stainless steel case measuring 37mm in diameter, 10.80mm thick and 46mm lug-to-lug distance, which features a mainly brushed finish contrasting with the polished bezel. Double domed sapphire crystal, fully recessed crown, steel case back and 150m water resistance.
The dial houses four different colours that define each variant, presented in green, blue, beige or brown.
In the composition of the dial we can find full-lumed applied hour markers and Arabic numerals at 3-6-9-12 o’clock, syringe hands which, like the lollipop centre seconds hand, also come filled with luminescent material, a black chapter ring with a railway minute track designed in white that matches the tone of the brand’s inscriptions at noon and ‘Hermétique’ from the collection followed by ‘150M’ from the watertight at 6 o’clock.
Inside, Baltic once again relies on reliable Japanese Miyota movements whose Caliber 9039 also gives life to the Aquascaphe which comes with hacking seconds, reaching 28,800 Vph and offering up to 42 hours of power reserve.
The new field watches come with several strap options, including a Tropic FKM strap matching the colour dial, a beads-of-rice steel bracelet or the flat link steel bracelet. Prices range from €550 for the strap option to €630 (excluding VAT) for any of the bracelet options.
Our Opinion
Since its appearance in 2017, Baltic has been dedicated to presenting quality watches, inspired by classic and elegant models at affordable prices where there is no room for great inventions, and we, as their audience, admire them for that.
The new Hermétique could not be a better continuation of this still-short journey, whose simplistic design and sober colours do not disappoint. Therefore our first evaluation is very positive and does not deserve any repair for now.
