Baltic Introduces Elegant MR Roulette
The young French watch brand Baltic, which specialises in producing vintage-inspired watches, has just added four new ones to its most dressy and elegant collection, the MR Roulette.
The MR collection, which already had the Classic model in three dial shades, now also includes the new Roulette with the same silver, salmon and navy blue tones which adds the extra colour black, already present in other collections.
The watch follows the same layout as the Classic, showing two centre hands for hours and minutes, an off-centre small seconds at 7:30 and a railroad minute track on the edges.
But after all, what distinguishes the new MR Roulette from the MR Classic? A sector dial that comes with printed Arabic numerals in the Serif Typeface font with a sunburst finish instead of the applied Breguet numerals and faceted Dauphine hands that replace the leaf hands.
It should also be noted that while the black and blue versions feature a smooth shiny centre with white accents, the salmon and silver versions show a grainy centre with black indices.
On the outside, we once again find a round stainless steel case with moderate dimensions, 36mm in diameter, 9.90mm thick and 44mm long that comes with a smooth bezel and a mainly brushed finish, domed Hesalite glass, fluted crown at 3 o’clock, open back case and 30m water resistance.
Inside we once again find the micro-rotor Caliber 5000a by Hangzhou, which runs 28,800 Vph and offers up to 42 hours of power reserve. It comes decorated with circular stripes on the bridges, blue screws and lilac jewels.
The watches are available from today on the brand’s online store, priced at €670.35 for the leather strap option, to which €73.80 is added if the option is for a steel bracelet, with the first 100 being numbered.
Our Opinion
We never tire of praising what has been one of our favourite micro-brands for a long time. It’s incredible how the brand reinvented itself and added value while maintaining affordable prices.
The new MR Roulette brings fresh air to the collection without detracting from it, presenting itself as an alternative to the Classic in the HMS way. It is worth highlighting the different dial textures that make the watch even more interesting, leaving us wondering which one we like best.
