Baltic Aquascaphe GMT MK II: Four Colours, New Movement, Same Spirit

Baltic has introduced the second generation of its Aquascaphe GMT, combining subtle design changes with a new movement and improved water resistance. The result is a more contemporary take on the brand’s vintage-inspired travel watch.

A Refined Case

The Aquascaphe GMT MK II features a 39.50 mm 316L stainless-steel case, with a 47 mm lug-to-lug measurement and a thickness of 13.80 mm. The case is slightly larger than its predecessor, while the most noticeable change is the addition of crown guards, giving the watch a more modern profile.

Vertical brushing on the lugs adds contrast to the finishing, while water resistance has increased to 200 metres. The caseback also receives a simplified engraving.

Four Colourways and a Familiar Bezel

The watch retains its bidirectional sapphire GMT bezel with 24 clicks and luminous markings. All four versions feature glossy black dials, Super-LumiNova BGW9 and slightly bolder, rounder hands and hour markers.

The collection includes blue and light blue, a red-and-blue “Pepsi” configuration, blue and green, and the newest black-and-grey version with orange accents.

A New Flyer GMT Movement

Inside, Baltic has replaced the previous Soprod C125 GMT with a Miyota 9075. This “flyer” GMT movement allows the local hour hand to be adjusted independently, making it particularly useful when travelling across time zones.

The movement offers a 42-hour power reserve and adds a more practical approach to the GMT complication.

Pricing and Availability

The Aquascaphe GMT MK II is available on a rubber strap for € 850, or with a bead-of-rice or flat-link steel bracelet for € 915.

With its compact proportions, 200-metre water resistance, sapphire GMT bezel and independently adjustable local hour hand, the MK II combines Baltic’s vintage-inspired design with a more contemporary technical foundation.
