Baltic And SpaceOne Present The Seconde Majeure
French watch brands Baltic and SpaceOne have joined forces for a unique collaborative timepiece that blends classic horological complications with an unconventional display architecture. The new Baltic x SpaceOne Seconde Majeure marks the first partnership between the two independent brands and introduces a completely new case and dial design created specifically for the project.

The story behind the collaboration dates back to 2021, when Baltic founder Etienne Malec hosted a gathering to celebrate the brand’s move into a new Paris office. It was during that event that Théo Auffret and Guillaume Laidet first connected before later launching SpaceOne Watches. Now, several years later, the two brands reunite for a watch that combines Baltic’s vintage-inspired DNA with SpaceOne’s futuristic approach to display design.

The Baltic x SpaceOne Seconde Majeure comes housed in a newly developed 38.50 mm stainless steel case crafted from 904L steel, measuring 12.30 mm thick. The case features a mix of brushed and polished surfaces across the lugs, caseband and concave bezel, creating a refined contrast between sporty and elegant finishes. One of the most distinctive elements is the crown positioned at 12 o’clock, giving the watch a perfectly symmetrical silhouette while reinforcing its unconventional personality.

The main attraction, however, is the regulator-style display with a jumping hour complication. Instead of traditional centrally mounted hands, the hours, minutes and seconds are separated into individual displays. At 12 o’clock, the jumping hours are shown through a sapphire disc, while the minutes are displayed on another sapphire disc positioned at 6 o’clock and indicated by a white arrow marker. Dominating the dial is the oversized blued central seconds hand, which inspired the “Seconde Majeure” name, meaning “Major Seconds.”
This layout creates a highly technical appearance while maintaining strong legibility. The partially openworked dial construction also adds depth and visual complexity, emphasizing the mechanical nature of the watch.

Surrounding the displays is a maillechort plate, a nickel silver alloy often appreciated in haute horlogerie for its warm tone and ability to develop character over time. Buyers can choose between two finishes: a vertically brushed version with a cleaner and more understated look, or the more expressive Charbonné finish, which is hand-applied and gives the dial a textured, almost organic appearance.

Powering the watch is a Soprod P024 automatic movement fitted with a custom jump-hour module developed by independent watchmaker Théo Auffret. The movement delivers a 42-hour power reserve and is hidden behind a closed caseback engraved with commemorative details and the individual limited production number.
Instead of a fixed production quantity, the Baltic x SpaceOne Seconde Majeure will be available exclusively during a limited ordering period running from May 12 to May 17. Pricing is set at € 2,500 for the brushed dial version and € 3,500 for the Charbonné edition, both before taxes.
