What began as a light-hearted April Fool’s concept has now materialised into a fully realised mechanical chronograph. The Studio Underd0g x Time+Tide “Hand Delivered” Pizza Party 2.0 transforms a once-fictional pizza-themed watch into a production reality, offered in two variations: the Burnt Pepperoni and the Classic Cheese.

While the inspiration may be humorous, the execution follows Studio Underd0g’s established formula—compact proportions, strong dial work, and a mechanically engaging chronograph movement.

Case and Proportions

Both models are housed in a stainless-steel case measuring 38.50 mm in diameter, with a thickness of 12.90 mm including the double-domed sapphire crystal. Without the crystal, the case stands at 10.10 mm, maintaining relatively slim proportions for a mechanical chronograph. The lug-to-lug distance measures 44.50 mm, reinforcing its vintage-inspired stance while ensuring modern wearability across a wide range of wrist sizes.

The Burnt Pepperoni edition distinguishes itself with a black PVD-coated finish, giving it a darker, more contemporary character, while the Classic Cheese retains a traditional stainless-steel appearance. The case is predominantly brushed, contrasted by polished accents on the bezel and the rectangular chronograph pushers. A double-domed sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the screw-down sapphire caseback reveals the movement inside. Water resistance is rated at 50 metres, making it suitable for daily wear, though clearly not intended for aquatic adventures.

Dial Execution: Whimsical Design, Precise Layout

The dials are where the Pizza Party 2.0 truly differentiates itself, yet the design remains structured and functional.

The Burnt Pepperoni features a rich gradient dial that transitions from deep red at the centre to darker, charred tones toward the edge. The surface includes playful “toppings” integrated into the design, echoing the pizza theme without disrupting the chronograph layout. The fumé effect adds depth and visual dynamism, while maintaining clarity.

The Classic Cheese adopts a warmer palette, dominated by golden-yellow tones that evoke melted cheese fresh from the oven. Compared to its sibling, it presents a cleaner aesthetic, though it still incorporates a subtle “missing slice” detail at 3 o’clock, reinforcing the theme in a restrained way.

Despite the creative concept, legibility has not been sacrificed. A clearly printed black tachymeter scale frames the dial, complemented by a precise minute track. The bi-compax layout keeps the small seconds and 30-minute chronograph counter balanced and easy to read. Subtle segmentation of the dial references pizza slices, yet remains discreet enough to preserve overall coherence.

Movement: Column-Wheel Engagement

Powering both versions is the hand-wound ST-1901B calibre produced by Seagull. This movement offers a power reserve of approximately 50 hours and is visible through the sapphire caseback. As a column-wheel chronograph, it delivers a crisp and tactile pusher feel that enthusiasts tend to appreciate. In a price category where cam-actuated systems are common, the presence of a column-wheel mechanism adds mechanical credibility and value.

Straps and Wearing Options

The Burnt Pepperoni can be configured either on a black PVD-coated Milanese mesh bracelet or on a black leather strap, both reinforcing its darker aesthetic. The Classic Cheese is paired with an Epsom calfskin strap produced by The Strap Tailor, giving it a more traditional and versatile character that balances the playful dial design.

Availability and Pricing

The Pizza Party 2.0 models will first be presented at launch events in New York City on February 26 and Melbourne on March 5, followed by an appearance at British Watchmakers’ Day on March 7. After these events, availability will continue through Time+Tide Studios.

Pricing is set at GBP 625 for the Classic Cheese, while the PVD-coated Burnt Pepperoni carries a slightly higher price of GBP 700.

The Studio Underd0g x Time+Tide Pizza Party 2.0 may have originated as a joke, but its execution is anything but casual. With compact vintage proportions, carefully developed dial work and a column-wheel chronograph movement visible through sapphire, it delivers substance alongside personality—an increasingly rare balance in today’s enthusiast-driven segment.
