German watchmaker Stowa continues to build on its long-standing reputation for functional, minimalist design with the introduction of the new Terra Field Watch collection. Rooted in the practical DNA of traditional field watches, the Terra line emphasizes durability, legibility, and everyday usability—core elements that define this category.

Compact and Purpose-Driven Case Design

The Terra models are housed in a 38 mm stainless steel case, a versatile size that suits a wide range of wrists. With a thickness of 11.50 mm, the watch maintains a balanced profile that works equally well in active and casual settings. Each case is treated with a gray PVD coating, giving the watch a subdued, tactical appearance while also enhancing surface durability. A screw-down crown contributes to a solid water resistance rating of 200 meters, reinforcing the watch’s capability in more demanding conditions.

Earth-Toned Dials with Functional Layout

The collection is introduced in three distinct color variants, each inspired by natural elements. The Soil version features a brown dial, while the Forest model adopts a muted green tone, and the Desert edition comes in a soft beige. Across all three, the aesthetic remains restrained and utilitarian, with matte finishes and earthy hues. Subtle red accents provide contrast, appearing on the minute track, the brand’s logo below 12 o’clock, and the tip of the seconds hand.

The dial layout is designed with clarity in mind. Large Arabic numerals are easy to read at a glance, while an inner 24-hour ring adds an additional layer of functionality typical of field watches. The absence of a date window preserves the symmetry of the dial and keeps distractions to a minimum.

Legibility and Night Visibility

Legibility plays a central role in the Terra collection. The watches feature blackened steel hands filled with Super-LumiNova, ensuring visibility in low-light conditions. Combined with the high contrast between dial and markers, this setup allows for quick and reliable time reading in a variety of environments.

Reliable Mechanical Movement

Powering the Terra models is the Sellita SW200 automatic movement, a proven caliber known for its reliability and straightforward construction. It supports hacking seconds, allowing for precise time-setting, and delivers dependable performance for everyday wear. The watch is also equipped with magnetic resistance up to 80,000 A/m, offering protection against the magnetic fields commonly encountered in daily life.

Strap and Wearability

Each Terra watch is fitted with an 18mm elastic fabric woven strap that is color-matched to its dial. This type of strap provides a secure yet flexible fit on the wrist, enhancing comfort over long periods of wear. Its design maintains a rugged character while avoiding the bulk typically associated with traditional military-style straps.
