Aviation-Inspired And Light-Powered: The New Citizen Terra Force Chronographs
Citizen kicks off 2026 on a strong note with the launch of two striking chronographs inspired by the Golden Age of aviation. The new Citizen Terra Force models seamlessly blend vintage pilot-watch aesthetics with the brand’s modern, sustainable watchmaking philosophy, thanks to an in-house movement powered by any light source.

Both Terra Force chronographs are housed in a robust 43 mm stainless steel case, featuring a predominantly brushed finish that reinforces their utilitarian, tool-watch character. A mineral crystal protects the dial and is framed by a functional 60-minute bezel. At 3 o’clock, a fluidly shaped crown is flanked by two pushers that operate the chronograph functions, while the screwed-down solid case back ensures a reassuring 100 meters of water resistance.

The dial layout stays true to classic chronograph design with a well-balanced tri-compax configuration. A 24-hour/12-hour indicator sits at 3 o’clock, a running seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock, and a 60-minute chronograph counter at 9 o’clock. Applied Arabic numerals and hour markers are generously filled with luminous material, as are the rose gold tone sword-shaped hour and minute hands, ensuring excellent legibility in low-light conditions. Additional details include a discreet date window at 4:30, a central chronograph seconds hand, and a peripheral minute track paired with a tachymeter scale along the dial’s edge.

Powering the Terra Force is Citizen’s B620 Eco-Drive quartz movement, a proven and reliable caliber that charges with any light source. This technology eliminates the need for battery changes, reinforcing Citizen’s long-standing commitment to sustainability and everyday practicality.

At launch, the Terra Force collection is available in two distinct configurations. The reference CA4746-08X features a warm reddish-brown dial paired with a black bezel, complemented by rose gold tone accents on the crown and pushers. It comes fitted with a stitched, distressed brown leather strap secured by a steel pin buckle. The CA4747-05L, on the other hand, offers a cooler aesthetic with a blue dial and matching bezel, contrasted by crisp white accents and mounted on a brown leather NATO strap.

Priced at an accessible USD 425, both Citizen Terra Force chronographs offer exceptional value for money. While the 43 mm case size may feel substantial by today’s standards, the bold proportions suit the watch’s aviation-inspired tool-watch identity. Combined with their attractive design and light-powered movement, these new Terra Force models make a compelling case for anyone seeking a versatile, characterful chronograph to start 2026 in style.
