Anoma Unveils The A1 Prehistoric With A Unique Hand-Chiselled Case
Just two years after entering the independent watchmaking scene, Anoma continues to expand its unconventional A1 collection with a striking new limited edition. The Anoma A1 Prehistoric introduces an artisanal hand-chiselled finish that transforms the brand’s signature rounded triangular case into a sculptural object inspired by ancient stone textures.
A Sculptural Case With A Unique Finish
The A1 Prehistoric retains the same compact case architecture that has become synonymous with the collection. Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the case measures 39 mm x 38 mm and is just 9.45 mm thick, while offering 50 metres of water resistance.

Its unusual rounded triangular shape, combined with the absence of traditional lugs and a curved caseback, allows the watch to wear noticeably smaller than its dimensions suggest.

The defining feature of this edition is its handcrafted exterior. Every case is individually hand-chiselled by French engraver Steven Brunel, a process that takes around five hours to complete. The meticulous work creates an irregular landscape of cuts, facets and textured surfaces that mimic weathered stone, ensuring that every one of the 100 watches produced is visually unique.
A Hand-Finished Anthracite Dial
Continuing the theme, the dial receives an equally labour-intensive treatment. Built on a brass base, it features approximately 600 hand-cut lines arranged in a sunburst pattern before receiving a deep anthracite finish.

The monochromatic colour palette complements the rugged case while preserving the clean and minimalist design language of the A1 collection. Time is displayed through elegant curved leaf-shaped hands, with a simple two-hand layout that keeps the textured dial as the visual focal point.
Powered By The Sellita SW100
Inside the A1 Prehistoric beats the reliable Sellita SW100 automatic movement.

The compact calibre operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and delivers a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. It displays only the hours and minutes, reinforcing the watch’s minimalist philosophy.
Grey Leather Strap And Limited Production
The watch is paired with a grey Italian leather strap secured by a pin buckle that receives the same hand-chiselled treatment as the case, creating a cohesive overall design.

The Anoma A1 Prehistoric will be produced in a limited run of 100 pieces for 2026. Orders open on 8 July 2026, with deliveries expected to begin in October 2026, it will be available for GBP 2,900 (excluding taxes).
