Anoma Turns Its Signature A1 Into A Permanent Core Collection
The independent watch scene continues to evolve, and few recent designs capture attention quite like the Anoma A1. With the introduction of the A1 Core Collection in the Abyss and Stone variants, the London-based brand transitions its most recognizable model from limited production into a permanent offering—refining a concept that blends unconventional design with everyday wearability.
A sculptural case with organic inspiration
At the heart of the A1 Core Collection is its distinctive triangular case—an immediately recognizable design that sets it apart from the crowded microbrand landscape. Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the case features smooth, flowing lines with round edges, giving it an almost naturally eroded, pebble-like appearance.

Despite its avant-garde shape, the construction remains practical. The case is composed of a central mid-case, a screw-down caseback, and a top section that integrates a triangular sapphire crystal. This structure ensures durability while maintaining a cohesive design language. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters, suitable for daily wear.
Dimensionally, the watch measures 39 mm by 38 mm, though the unconventional geometry makes it wear smaller. With a thickness of just 9.45 mm, the A1 sits slim on the wrist, enhancing comfort and versatility.
Two distinct dial executions
The Core Collection introduces two dial variations, each emphasizing texture and depth in different ways.
The Abyss version stands out with a rich teal-gren tone, achieved through a multi-layered lacquer process. A combination of greenish-blue and deep midnight blue layers creates a dynamic interplay of color, further enhanced by a sunburst outer ring and a polished central section. The result is a dial that shifts subtly depending on the light.

In contrast, the Stone variant adopts a more restrained aesthetic. Its grey dial features a grained central texture reminiscent of river stones, paired with a sunburst outer section. This combination delivers a tactile, natural look while maintaining visual interest.
Both dials follow a sector-style layout adapted to the triangular form, with off-centered positioning that reinforces the watch’s asymmetrical identity. The minimalist two-hand configuration keeps the display clean and legible.
Compact mechanics for a unique form
Powering the A1 Core Collection is the automatic Sellita SW100 caliber. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a power reserve of approximately 38 hours, the movement is a practical choice given the compact dimensions required by the case design.

The absence of a seconds hand aligns with the watch’s minimalist philosophy, focusing attention on its design and proportions rather than additional complications.
Integrated strap design
The A1 is paired with grained Italian leather straps that integrate seamlessly beneath the case. This lugless construction enhances the fluidity of the overall design, allowing the watch to sit naturally on the wrist while reinforcing its sculptural aesthetic.

Availability and pricing
The Anoma A1 Core Collection is now part of the brand’s permanent lineup, marking a shift toward continuity rather than limited releases. An initial production run of 300 pieces—split evenly between the Abyss and Stone models—has been announced.

The retail price is set at GBP 2,200, positioning the A1 as a design-focused offering within the independent watch segment.
