Alpina Introduces The Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic Route Du Rhum
Alpina expands its Seastrong collection with the Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic Route du Rhum, a limited-edition diver created in connection with the renowned transatlantic sailing race. Building on the compact 39mm case introduced with the Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic in 2024, this new edition combines a turquoise and black colour scheme with nautical details and a dial inspired by the Atlantic Ocean.
The result is a watch that retains the practical specifications of its predecessor while giving the Extreme case a distinctly maritime identity.
A 39mm Case with 300-Metre Water Resistance
The watch is housed in a 39 mm stainless-steel case, measuring 40.5mm from lug to lug and 13.4mm in thickness. Its cushion-shaped profile is characteristic of Alpina’s Extreme design language, while a combination of brushed and polished surfaces adds definition to the case.

A bidirectional bezel with a carbon-fibre insert surrounds the dial. Rather than a conventional diving countdown scale, it features a compass scale with the four cardinal points and 360-degree markings, reinforcing the watch’s connection to navigation and sailing.
The screw-down crown is fitted with a rubber grip, and the solid caseback contributes to the watch’s 300-metre water resistance. These specifications place the Route du Rhum edition firmly within the Seastrong Diver Extreme’s tool-watch territory.
An Atlantic-Inspired Dial
The most distinctive element of this edition is its turquoise dial, which features a grained surface engraved with a representation of Atlantic Ocean currents. The pattern provides texture while reinforcing the connection to the Route du Rhum, a race known for its demanding solo transatlantic course.

A turquoise outer ring frames the dial, with a white minute track providing a clear contrast. Applied silver-coloured hour markers and matching hour and minute hands complete the display, while the seconds hand introduces a small red accent through its triangular tip.
The date window is positioned at 6 o’clock. Its red-coloured 13 commemorates the race’s 13th edition, adding another detail specific to this limited series.
Automatic Movement and Practical Specifications
Inside the case, Alpina uses its AL-525 automatic movement, based on the Sellita SW200-1. The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides approximately 38 hours of power reserve.

The watch is supplied with a two-tone rubber strap designed to complement the dial. Its central section is textured black, while the side flanks are turquoise, creating a direct visual connection with the case and dial. A steel pin buckle completes the strap.
A Limited Route du Rhum Edition
The Alpina Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic Route du Rhum is limited to 313 pieces, giving the model a specific place within the Seastrong collection.

With its compact dimensions, 300-metre water resistance, compass bezel and Atlantic-inspired dial, the watch combines the functional character of a modern diver with a design that reflects its sailing connection.
The Route du Rhum edition is priced at CHF 2,195.
