The new Chronomaster Original Paris Edition from Zenith draws inspiration from one of Paris’ most recognizable visual signatures — the verdigris patina that covers many of the city’s historic copper rooftops and domes. Produced in a limited run of just 50 pieces and reserved exclusively for the French market, the special edition combines the iconic Chronomaster silhouette with a distinctive new color palette inspired by the architectural heritage of the French capital.

A Dial Inspired By Parisian Copper Roofs

The defining feature of the watch is its gradient verdigris dial, designed to evoke the appearance of aged copper surfaces found throughout Paris. The color gradually transitions from a darker outer edge to a lighter center, adding depth while emphasizing the vintage character of the watch.

The three overlapping chronograph registers are finished in matching tones, creating a cohesive and harmonious appearance across the dial.

Rhodium-plated applied hour markers and faceted hands provide excellent contrast against the green background, while Super-LumiNova ensures legibility in low-light conditions. A discreet date aperture positioned at 4:30 integrates seamlessly into the design without disrupting the balanced layout of the chronograph counters.

The Classic 38mm Chronomaster Original Case

The Paris Edition retains the familiar 38 mm stainless steel case of the Chronomaster Original collection, faithfully preserving the proportions of the legendary 1969 A386.

The case features classic pump-style chronograph pushers, elegantly tapered lugs and a box-shaped sapphire crystal that reinforces its vintage-inspired appearance while benefiting from modern materials and durability.

On the reverse side, the sapphire crystal caseback reveals the movement and features a dedicated “ÉDITION PARIS” engraving alongside the individual limitation number corresponding to each of the 50 watches produced.

El Primero 3600 High-Frequency Chronograph Movement

Powering the watch is the El Primero 3600 automatic chronograph calibre. Operating at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour (5Hz), the movement is capable of measuring elapsed times with an accuracy of one-tenth of a second.

This capability is showcased by the central chronograph seconds hand, which completes a full revolution around the dial every 10 seconds rather than the traditional 60-second rotation found on most chronographs.

Bracelet With Integrated Micro-Adjustment

The Chronomaster Original Paris Edition is delivered on a stainless steel bracelet equipped with Zenith’s latest Zenclasp folding clasp system.

The clasp incorporates an integrated micro-adjustment mechanism that allows the bracelet length to be adjusted in 2.5mm increments without the need for tools, improving comfort throughout the day as wrist size naturally changes.

Ceramic ball components inside the clasp contribute to smoother operation and more precise locking action.

Additional Strap And Availability

For owners looking for a more casual look, Zenith also includes an additional black nubuck leather strap that offers a sportier alternative to the stainless steel bracelet.

Limited to just 50 examples and available exclusively in France, the Zenith Chronomaster Original Paris Edition is priced at € 11,800.

Our Take

In our view, the dial is unquestionably the highlight of this exclusive edition. Dominated by the three large overlapping chronograph counters, complemented by a date window that blends seamlessly into the background and framed by the elongated double scale running around the periphery, it delivers a strong vintage character. That retro appeal is further enhanced by the verdigris green dial, whose tone gradually darkens towards the edges until it almost turns black, adding depth and visual drama to the composition. It is undoubtedly an exclusive edition that will resonate with collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate vintage-inspired chronographs.
